Wednesday
A female Marsh Harrier was seen over the Garrison & Lower Moors, a ringtail Hen Harrier was on St. Martin’s and a Merlin was on the Garrison.
A Dunlin & a Whimbrel were on Old Town Beach, a female Cuckoo was on the Garrison, 2 Turtle Dove flew over Juliet’s Garden and another was on St. Martin’s.
A Lesser Whitethroat was at Salakee & another was on Porth Hellick Loop, 4Common Whitethroat were on St.Martin’s with another on the Garrison and a Garden Warbler were near the Steval on the Garrison, 1 was in the roadside bushes at Higher Moors & 1 was on St.Martin’s.
4 Spotted Flycatcher were on St.Martin’s, 4 were on the Garrison and 1 was the roadside bushes at Higher Moors.
Thursday
Another day with a Mediterranean flavour, a Red-rumped Swallow was found over Porth Hellick early morning and in the evening there were 2 at Bar Point with a large flock of mixed Swallows & House Martins and then back at Porth Hellick. A female Golden Oriole was seen at Porth Hellick Ringing Station and a male Subalpine Warbler (probably Western) was seen briefly near the woolpack fort on the Garrison.
The female Marsh Harrier was over Porth Hellick, the ringtail Hen Harrier was seen several times on St. Mary’s, a Hobby was over Old Town and Kestrel were seen over the Golf Course & Kittydown. 4 Great Northern Diver were in the Roads, 4 Whimbrel & 4 Dunlin were at Old Town Quay, with another 4 Dunlin on Porth Hellick Beach.
A Rook ( a scarce bird on Scilly) was in a iris field next to Rosehill Memorial Garden, Cuckoo were seen/heard in Lower Moors, Green Farm & Bar Point, 3 Turtle Dove were at Parting Carn, 1 was at Kittydown & 1 was at Porth Hellick and 4 Common Swift were at Trenoweth, 3 were at Lenteverne, 2 at Bar Point and 3 over the Garrison.
2 Tree Pipit were at Trenoweth & 1 was at Porth Minnick, 3 Spotted Flycatcher were on the Garrison, 2 were at Bar Point & 1 was at Salakee, a Whinchat was near the leat at Porth Hellick Pool and a Mistle Thrush flew over Pelistry towards Holy Vale.
The Cetti’s Warbler was till north of the Dump Clump, 2 Garden Warbler were at Trenoweth, 1 was on the Garrison & 1 was at Salakee, 4 Common Whitethroat were on the Garrison, 1 was at Bar Point and 1 was in to Rosehill Memorial Garden.
