Throughout the period up to 6 Black Redstarts on the beaches around St. Mary’s, still a few Firecrests along the nature trails and Great Northern Divers in inter-island waters. On St. Agnes very late Yellow Wagtail flew over Lower Town on 18/12 and on the same date a Whinchat was on Periglis, it was still present on 25th. This bird has been present since early November is it wintering on the island?

An Iceland Gull was at Porthcressa on 24th and it was at Porthloo on 26th. On 27th 2 Iceland Gulls and a Little Grebe were on Tresco and on 29th a Spoonbill was on Green Island near Samson. On 30th 2 Iceland Gulls were at Porthcressa and one of these or possibly another was at Porthloo. 2 more unseasonal records were a Common Whitethroat and a Willow Warbler reported on Little Porth also on 30th.
