Red-backed Shrike – 1 still on the golf course and 1 still by the bulb dump at Browarth, St. Agnes (photo).

Short-toed Lark  – 1 still around Peninnis Lighthouse.

Lapland Bunting – 1  still around Peninnis Lighthouse and 1 still on the airfield.

Glossy Ibis – 1 still in the field next to the “Moos” at Normandy.

Corncrake – 1 in a field at Cove Vean, St. Agnes.

Cory’s Shearwater – A constant stream of birds going south past Bryher (80 in the first hour of sea-watching), 20 flew past Giant’s Castle, 1 flew past Deep Point and 5 were seen in Scilly waters from the Scillonian III on the morning crossing from Penzance to St. Mary’s.

Great Shearwater – 1 was seen in Scilly waters from the Scillonian III on the morning crossing from Penzance to St. Mary’s.

Common Scoter – a female type in Porth Cressa.

Dotterel – 1 on the golf course.

Golden Plover – 1 on the golf course.

Bar-tailed Godwit – 1 on Porthloo Beach and 1 on Campsite Beach, St. Agnes.

Kingfisher – 1 on the Great Pool, Tresco,

Turtle Dove – 2 still in a field at Telegraph.

Yellow-browed Warbler –1 in bushes at Newford Duck Pond and 1 by the entrance to Carreg Dhu.

Firecrest – 1 on Sunnyside Farm Trail and 1 at Maypole.

Pied Flycatcher  – 1 still in a field at Telegraph, 1 in Old Town Churchyard. 5 on St. Agnes and 1 on Pool Road, Tresco.

Spotted Flycatcher  – 1 in the Parsonage Garden, St. Agnes.

Whinchat – 1 on the wall behind the Garrison football pitch.

Common Redstart – 1 on Peninnis Farm Trail, 1 on the golf course and 1 in Browarth fields hedge, St. Agnes.

Yellow Wagtail – 1 on Porthloo Beach and 1 on St. Agnes cricket pitch.

Long-tailed Blue – 1 in the first field to the left of Pelistry Lane. This a rare butterfly on Scilly.

Lesser Emperor Dragonfly – 1 at New Quay slipway south of Watermill Cove.

Thursday (01/10)

Red-throated Pipit – 1 flew low calling over Longstone Lodge

Bonelli’s Warbler – 1 seen briefly twice in the Fuit Cage/Chapel Fields area. St. Agnes was not identified to species level, i.e. Western or Eastern.

Red-backed Shrike – 1 still on the golf course/

Short-toed Lark  – 1 still around Peninnis Lighthouse.

Lapland Bunting – 1  still around Peninnis Lighthouse and 1 still on the airfield.

Glossy Ibis – 1 still in the field next to the “Moos” at Normandy (photo).

Cory’s Shearwater  – As yesterday, “lots” still passing Bryher and St. Martin’s.

Sooty Shearwater  – 1 off the Steval on the Garrison.

Wigeon – 3 on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Little Grebe – 1 on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Dotterel – 1 still on the golf course.

Golden Plover – 1 still on the golf course.

Bar-tailed Godwit – 1 on Porthloo Beach.

Whimbrel – 1 on Porthloo Beach.

Short-eared Owl  – 1 in Popplestone Fields, Bryher and 1 near Pernagie Point, St. Martin’s.

Turtle Dove – 2 still in a field at Telegraph, 1 on the roof of the David Hunt hide on Pool Road, Tresco and 1 flew over St. Agnes Campsite.

Skylark – 8 on the airfield

Yellow-browed Warbler – 1 in Carreg Dhu/ Longstone, 1 Salakee1 in the elms by St. Martin’s cricket pitch and 1 between the hides on Pool Road, Tresco.

Firecrest – 1 Holy Vale

Pied Flycatcher  –10 on St. Mary’s, 3 on St. Martin’s, and 1 in the Parsonage garden, St. Agnes.

Spotted Flycatcher  – 6 on St. Mary’s, 2 on St. Martin’s and 1 Borough Farm. Tresco.

Whinchat – 2 on the golf course, ! Higher Moors and 1 in the horse paddocks behind the Garrison playing fields.

Common Redstart – 1 still on Peninnis Farm Trail, 1 in Browarth fields hedge  & St. Warna’s Cove, St. Agnes and 1 Little Arthur Farm, St. Martin’s.

Yellow Wagtail – 1 Borough Farm. Tresco.

Long-tailed Blue – 1 briefly in  field to the left of Pelistry Lane.

Friday (02/10)

Sora Rail – A small rail seen briefly in the morning by people reed cutting at Porth Hellick showed better mid-afternoon and was identified as a Sora.

Bonelli’s Warbler – 1 seen on St. Martin’s but as the bird on St. Agnes was not identified to species level, Photos were taken so hopefully it will be fully identified.

Barred Warbler – 1 was in the back garden of a house on Sallyport.

Short-toed Lark  – 1 still around Peninnis Lighthouse.

Red-backed Shrike – 1 still on the golf course.

Common Rosefinch   – 1 at St. Warna’s Cove, St. Agnes.

Lapland Bunting – 1  still around Peninnis Lighthouse and 1 still on the airfield.

Glossy Ibis – 1 still in the field next to the “Moos” at Normandy.

Wigeon – 3 still on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Little Grebe – 1 still on the Great Pool, Tresco and it or another on Porth Hellick Pool in the evening.

Bar-tailed Godwit – 10 on Gleaner Beach, Tresco.

Osprey – 1 flew over Bar Point.

Turtle Dove – 1 on Tresco.

Common Whitethroat – 1 on Porth Hellick Beach, 1 Watermill and 1 on the track between the airport and Old Town.

Lesser Whitethroat – 1 was in bushes at Shooters’ Pool, and 1 on St. Agnes.

Yellow-browed Warbler – 1 at Trenoweth Community Orchard and 1 in the Middle Town pines, St. Martin’s.

Firecrest – 1 on Rocky Hill and 2 at the top of the road to Holy Vale near Maypole.

Redwing  – 1 on Rocky Hill was the first report of the autumn.

Pied Flycatcher  – 6 on St. Mary’s.

Spotted Flycatcher  – 4 on St. Mary’s and 1 St. Martin’s.

Whinchat – 1 at Salakee.

Common Redstart C at Halangy Down.

Saturday (03/10)

Wilson’s Snipe – A bird that was probably this species was seen on Lower Moors Pool early evening.

Sora Rail – 1 showing well on and off at Porth Hellick Pool (photo).

Western Bonelli’s Warbler – 1 was seen briefly again in the pines above Middle Town, St. Martin’s

Bonelli’s Warbler – Another not identified to specie was seen briefly in the Fruit Cage, St. Agnes.

Red-throated Pipit – 1 seen briefly on Peninnis south of the gate at the end of King Edward’s Road.

Short-toed Lark  – 2 still around Peninnis Lighthouse.

Snow Bunting  – 1 on Porth Hellick Beach

Purple Heron – 1 briefly in Lower Moors and then flew towards the project pool.

Glossy Ibis – 5+ were seen in various locations around St. Mary’s.

Wilson’s Storm-petrel – 1  seen in Scilly waters from the Scillonian III on the morning crossing from Penzance to St. Mary’s. This is the latest date that this species has been recorded,

European Storm-petrel – 35 seen in Scilly waters from the Scillonian III on the morning crossing from Penzance to St. Mary’s.

Sooty Shearwater – 2  seen in Scilly waters from the Scillonian III on the morning crossing from Penzance to St. Mary’s and 1 on the return trip in the afternoon.

Arctic Skua – 1  seen in Scilly waters from the Scillonian III on the morning crossing from Penzance to St. Mary’s.

Black Tern  – 2 seen in Scilly waters from the Scillonian III on the afternoon crossing  from St. Mary’s to Penzance.

Grey Phalarope – 27  seen in Scilly waters from the Scillonian III on the morning crossing from Penzance to St. Mary’s and 23 on the return trip.

Bar-tailed Godwit – 3 on Porthloo Beach.

Kingfisher – 1 Lower Moors Pool and 1 Porth Hellick Pool.

Turtle Dove – 1 still in the rolled field at Telegraph.

Lesser Whitethroat – 1 on Porth Hellick Beach and 1 at Shooters’ Pool.

Yellow-browed Warbler – 1 at Watermill Cove and 1 in Old Town Church.

Firecrest – 1 at the bottom of the Sunnyside Farm Trail.

Ring Ouzel – 1 at north end of Porthloo Lane, 1 on Salakee Down and 2 on King Edward’s Road.

Spotted Flycatcher – 1 at Carreg Dhu.

Pied Flycatcher – 7 on St. Mary’s.

Whinchat –2 on St. Mary’s and  3 west of Bryher Campsite.

Common Redstart – 1on King Edward’s Road, Peninnis and 1 west of Bryher Campsite.

Yellow Wagtail – 3 on Peninnis and 2 at Porth Hellick.

Grey Wagtail – 4 on the Salakee Farm track and 1 at Shooters’ Pool.

Monarch Butterfly – 1 flew east over Old Town.

Vagrant Emperor Dragonfly – 1 at Bar Point.

Lesser Emperor Dragonfly – 1 halfway along King Edward’s Lane, Peninnis.
