Water Pipit – 1 on Porthloo Beach.

Great White Egret – flew over the “Moos” at Normandy.

Little Grebe  – 1 still in Porth Hellick Bay.

Woodcock – 1 flushers from Sophie’s Walk, Porthloo Lane, 1 flushed first light from Carn Friars Lane and 3 flushed from the pines between Jac-a Bar and Bar Point.

Skylark  – 3 on the west side of Peninnis.

Yellow-browed Warbler – 1 calling at McFarland’s Down entrance opposite the building site, 1 Higher Moors and 2 at the west end of Pool Road, Tresco.

Siberian Chiffchaff  –  1 at the west end of Pool Road, Tresco.

Firecrest –  1 Higher Moors, 1 trapped & ringed at Porth Hellick Ringing Station and 5 at the west end of Pool Road, Tresco.

Black Redstart  – 5 on Porthloo Beach, 6 at Little Porth, 1 by Star Castle on the Garrison and 1 on the west side of Peninnis.

Brambling – 1 trapped and ringed at Porth Hellick Ringing Station.

Siskin – 2 trapped and ringed at Porth Hellick Ringing Station.

Sunday (09/11)

Isabelline Wheatear  – 1 was found  in the Fire Station Field, St. Martin’s.

Dusky Warbler   – A very elusive, but vocal bird was calling in the dump clump.

Bluethroat – After not been seen for nearly  a week it was seen again on Porth Hellick Beach.

Cattle Egret– 1 1 flew north over Lower Moors.

Little Grebe  – 1 still in Porth Hellick Bay.

Golden Plover – 8 at Giant’s Castle.

Yellow-browed Warbler – 1 in Rosehill Gardens, 1 Porth Hellick Loop, 2 Higher Moors. 1 calling on Telegraph Road 200 metres east of Lower Moors and 1 calling from the farm behind Newford Duck Pond.

Siberian Chiffchaff  –  2 in Lower Moors.

Firecrest –  4 in Lower Moors, 34 around the ringing lanes at Porth Hellick and on St. Martin’s 2 were by the tennis court & 3 were at Lawrance’s Bay

Black Redstart  – 5 on Porthloo Beach, 6 at Little Porth, 1 by Star Castle on the Garrison and 1 on the west side of Peninnis and 1 was at Lawrance’s Bay, St. Martin’s.

Whinchat –  A late bird was at Giant’s Castle.

Brambling – 1 in Lower Moors.

Monday (10/11)

Ring-necked Duck – The first-winter drake seen last week on St. Mary’s had moved to Tresco and was on the sea at New Grimsby below the New Inn late morning before been seen of Bar Quay, Bryher in the afternoon.

Dusky Warbler – 1 was still in the Dump Clump area.

Pallas’s Leaf Warbler – 1 was found on the Porth Hellick Loop Trail.

Caspian Gull – A first-winter bird was in a field at Longstone.

Cattle Egret – 2 at dolphin Town, Tresco.

Woodcock – 1 was on the Porth Hellick Loop Trail.

Merlin – 1 on Tresco.

Yellow-browed Warbler – 2 were on the Porth Hellick Loop Trail and 2 on Pool Road.

Siberian Chiffchaff – 1 was in the Dump Clump. 1 was in Lower Moors and 1 on Tresco.

Firecrest – 2 were on the Porth Hellick Loop Trail, 3 in Lower Moors and 7 on Tresco.

House Martin – 2 late migrants were over Lower Moors.

Swallow – 3 late migrants were over Lower Moors.

Black Redstart – 2 at Porth Mellon and 1 on Tresco.

Whinchat – Another late migrant at Porth Mellon.

Brambling – 2 on Tresco.

Tuesday (11/11)

Not a lot of reports on a another wild, wet and windy day!

Wednesday (12/11) 

Pallas’s Warbler – 1 was seen again on the Porth Hellick Loop Trail.

Red-breasted Flycatcher – 1 in Holy Vale (photo).

Water Pipit – 1 still on Porthloo Beach.

Great White Egret – 1 in Old Town Bay.

Little Egret – 7 at Porthloo.

Little Grebe – 1 still in Porth Hellick Bay.

Kingfisher – 1 on the rocks at Tolman.

Raven –  1 over Holy Vale.

Yellow-browed Warbler – 1 in Holy Vale, 1 Higher Moors, 2 on the Porth Hellick Loop Trail, 1 Sunnyside Farm and 1 in Lower Moors.

Siberian Chiffchaff – 1 on the Porth Hellick Loop Trail.

Firecrest –  4 in Holy Vale, 2 on the Porth Hellick Loop Trail and 3 in the vicinity of the Porth Hellick Hides.

Whinchat – 1 at the edge of the eastern runway.

Black Redstart – 3 at Porthloo, 2 at the back of Hugh Town Quay and 1 on Old Town Beach (photo).

Swallow – 3 in the Dump Clump area.

House Martin – 2 in the Dump Clump area and these 2 or others over Hugh Town Quay.

Brambling –  4 in Holy Vale.

Thursday (13/11) 

Ring-necked Duck  –  The first-winter drake was on Abbey Pool, Tresco.

Dusky Warbler – There were 4 on the islands, 2 on St. Mary’s, 1 in the Dump Clump & 1 in Lower Moors and 2 on Tresco, 1 on near the Swarovski hide on  Pool Road & 1 at Rowesfield Crossroads.

Pallas’s Leaf Warbler – 1 still on Porth Hellick Loop Trail and 1 heard in the Dump Clump.

Little Grebe – 1 still in Porth Hellick Bay.

Great White Egret –  1 on Porth Hellick Pool.

Cattle Egret – 2 at Borough Farm, Tresco.

Wigeon –  1 on Porth Hellick Pool.

Golden Plover – 1 flew over Higher Moors.

Woodcock – 2 Porth Hellick Loop.

Whimbrel – 1 on the west side of Peninnis.

Kingfisher – 1 on Porth Hellick Pool. 

Swallow –   2 late birds over Tregarthen’s car park.

House Martin –  2 late birds over Tregarthen’s car park.

Siberian Chiffchaff – 1 in the Standing Stones Field, 1 Higher Moors, 1 Porth Hellick Loop, 1 by the Lower Moors Hides, 1 at Rosehill

Yellow-browed Warbler – 2 in the Standing Stones Field, 2 Higher Moors, 2 by the Lower Moors Hides, 1 by Shooters’ Pool, 1 at Rosehill and 3 around the Great Pool, Tresco.

Willow Warbler – a “northern type” was by Shooter’s Pool.

Firecrest – 3 at Rosehill and 6 on Tresco

Black Redstart – 7 at Little Porth, 2 in Tregarthen’s car park.

Brambling – 1 on the Project Pool, 2 on King Edward’s Lane, Peninnis, 2 in the Standing Stones Field, 5 in Lower Moors and 9 on Tresco.

Redpoll – 1 flew over Porth Hellick.

Friday (14/11)

Dusky Warbler – 1 was still in the Dump Clump.

Red-breasted Flycatcher –  1 still in Holy Vale.

Bluethroat  – 1 at Little Porth, photographs showed it to be a different bird to the 1 seen last week on Porth Hellick Beach. A third bird , a first-winter male, was on seaweed at the south end of Pentle Bay.

Water Pipit – 1 Old Town Beach.

Great White Egret – 1 on Porth Hellick Pool.

Cattle Egret  – 2 on Simpson’s Field, Tresco.

House Martin  –  The 2 late birds where still around Tregarthen’s car park.

House Martin –  2 were over the Dump Clump

Yellow-browed Warbler – 2 in Holy Vale, 1Higher Moors and 2 Newford Duck Pond (photo).

Firecrest –  6 in Lower Moors.

Mistle Thrush – 1 at Rosehill.

Brambling –  “Several” were in the Dump Clump area, 1 in the Parting Carn chicken field.

Red-breasted Flycatcher –  1 still in Holy Vale.

Great White Egret – 1 Porth Hellick.

Wigeon – 1 on Porth Hellick Pool.

Merlin – 1 at Bant’s Carn.

Kingfisher – 1 Hugh Town Quay.

House Martin – 2 still around Tregarthen’s car park.

Yellow-browed Warbler – 1 still at Newford Duck Pond and 1 heard near the turning to Mount Flagon.

Firecrest – 1 in pittosporum outside the hospital and 1 by Buzza Tower.

Grey Wagtail – 1 at Little Porth.

Siberian Chiffchaff –  1 in Holy Vale.

Black Redstart – 7 at Little Porth, 2 at Tregarthen’s car park, 5 at Shark’s Pit, 5 Bant’s Carn, 3 Carn Morval, 1 on Porthloo Beach and 1 on Porth Hellick Beach

Brambling – 1 flew over Newford Duck Pond and in weedy patch on King Edward’s Road, Peninnis.

Snow Bunting – 1 flying over Bant’s Carn appeared to come down near Bar Point.
