American Pipit – 1 still with Meadow Pipits in a field northwest of Longstone.

Water Pipit – 1 in the pig field on King Edward’s Road. Peninnis.

Ortolan Bunting – 1 on Porth Hellick Beach.

Snow Bunting – 3 near the Daymark, St. Martin’s.

Great White Egret – 1 at Porth Hellick and Old Town Bay.

Great Shearwater – 1 flew west past Old Town Bay.

Golden Plover – 20 on the Airfield and 1 on Peninnis.

Woodcock – 1 sitting in Holy Vale.

Jack Snipe – 1 flushed from the boardwalk in Lower Moors.

Merlin – 1 Porth Hellick and 1 Peninnis.

Kingfisher – 1 Porth Hellick.

Skylark – 2 on Peninnis.

Yellow-browed Warbler – 1 in Holy Vale.

Lesser Whitethroat – 1 in Lower Moors.

Firecrest – 1 at Lower Broome, Garrison Walls, 1 Holy Vale, 1 Watermill Lane, 3 Lower Moors, 2 Porthloo and 2 on the east side of the Garrison.

Black Redstart – 2 Watermill, 2 on the east side of the Garrison, 3 Little Porth, 1 Porth Mellom and 1 Porth Minnick.

Yellow Wagtail – 1 on Little Porth and 2 on Peninnis.

Brambling – 2 on Porth Hellick Beach, 2 in the chicken field on Tremelethen Trail, 1 in a field south of Longstone  and 2 flew over Porthloo.

Siskin – 1 Pelistry, 1 Holy Vale and 1 Porthloo.

Friday (24/10)

Hoopoe – 1 near Juliet’s Garden which then flew towards Porthloo.

Wryneck – 1 still on the west side of Peninnis (photo).

Snow Bunting – 4 near the Daymark, St. Martin’s.

Great White Egret – 1 on the Great Pool, Tresco and 1 in Old Tow Bay.

Great Shearwater – 17 flew past Horse Point, St. Agnes in the evening

Great Northern Diver – 1 in Porth Cressa.

Common Scoter – 11 flew west through the Roads and 1 was still on the sea behind the Mermaid Carpark.

Golden Plover – 18 on the airfield.

Jack Snipe – 2 were flushed from Little Porth.

Whimbrel – 1 in Porth Hellick Bay

Arctic Skua – 1 flew past Peninnis.

Kingfisher – 1 Porth Hellick Pool.

Firecrest – 1 still at Lower Broome, Garrison Walls, 1 in the Dump Clump, 2 Porthloo. 2 in Old Town Churchyard, 1 Borough Farm, 2 Watermill

Ring Ouzel – 1 a pig field on King Edward’s Road, Peninnis and 1 at Stinky Porth, Bryher.

Black Redstart – 4 on Little Porth, 4 on Porth Mellon, 1 at Carn Leh, 1 Old Town Churchyard and 2 Back Lane, Tresco.

Brambling  – 2 on Porth Hellick Beach.

Saturday (25/10) 

Buff-bellied Pipit – 1 was again in a field west of Barnaby Lane.

Hoopoe – 1 seen in various locations on the Garrison.

Wryneck – 1 by the gate at the south end of King Edward’s Lane, Peninnis.

Water Pipit – 1 in St. Warna’s Cove, St. Agnes.

Lapland Bunting – 1 flew over Porth Hellick Beach and what was presumably the same was seen in a field along the track from Porth Hellick to Salakee Farm (photo).

Snow Bunting – 1 flew over south end of Gugh.

Greenland White-fronted Goose – 14 flew over Lower Moors and then over the Great Pool. Tresco. These are the first of the Greenland subspecies for 10 years.

Great Northern Diver – 3 past Peninnis.

Little Grebe – 1 on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Sooty Shearwater – 1 flew west past Peninnis.

Great White Egret – 1 in Porth Hellick Bay and also in Old Town Bay.

Spoonbill – 2 on Green Island, Samson.

Cattle Egret – 1 on the east side of Abbey Pool.

Golden Plover – 19 on the airfield and 1 at the end of Peninnis.

Woodcock – 1 in the Dump Clump and 1 flew over Holy Vale.

Jack Snipe – 1 was on Lower Moors Pool and 1 was on Simpson’s Field, Tresco.

Whimbrel – 1 in Porth Hellick.

Bar-tailed Godwit – 4 Pentle Bay, Tresco.

Arctic skua – 1 past Morning Point.

Merlin – 1 flew across Porth Cressa and 1 on St. Martin’s.

Kingfisher – 2 Porth Cressa.

Raven – 1 was on Turfy Hill, St. Martin’s.

Skylark – 2 on Peninnis, 1 over Porth Cressa and 7 on St. Martin’s.

Yellow-browed Warbler – 1 at Longstone, 1 at the entrance to Porthloo farm buildings and 1 was calling near the Stephen Sussex hide, Porth Hellick. On Tresco, 1 was in a large clump of sallow just southeast of Great Pool and 1 was at Abbey Crossroads. On St. Martin’s 1 was near the campsite.

Firecrest – 15+ on St. Mary’s and 1 on Tresco.

Ring Ouzel –  On St . Agnes, 1 was at Porth Killier, 1 was in St. Warna’s Cove and 1 was in a field at the top of Gugh Bar. 1 on Bryher.

Mistle Thrush – 1  between Normandy Corner and Carn Friars Farm Shop and 1 on Pool Road, Tresco.

Black Redstart – 25+ on St. Mary’s , 2 on St. Agnes and 2 Tresco.

Brambling – 1 on Porth Hellick Beach, 1 Porthloo Lane and 1 in Cove Vean, St. Agnes.

Siskin – 2 on Peninnis, 2 at Porth Hellick and 1 on St. Martin’s.

Reed Bunting – 1 on the east side of Abbey Pool.
