Richard’s Pipit – 1 around the Big Pool, St. Agnes.

Common Rosefinch – 1 still on the beach at Porth Hellick.

Hawfinch – 1 flew over Longstone towards Old Town and 1 flew west of Maypole.

Lapland Bunting  – 1 still on the airfield.

Common Rosefinch – 1 still on Porth Hellick Beach.

Red-breasted Flycatcher – 1 in Carreg Dhu Gardens and 1 in the garden opposite St. Martin’s fire station.

Black-necked Grebe  – 1 still off Gleaner Beach, Tresco.

Common Scoter – 1 off the Garrison.

Great White Egret – 1 flew west from the Great Pool, Tresco.

Cattle Egret – 2 moving between Longstone & Parting Carn and 2 on Tresco.

Spoonbill  – 2 still on Green Island, Samson.

Little Egret – 9 Porthloo.

Lapwing – 2 on Tresco Heliport, 1 on Porthloo Lane and 1 in a field between Normandy and Carn Vean.

Grey Plover – 1 on Jack’s Ledge, St. Martin’s.

Golden Plover – 3 on the airfield.

Jack Snipe – 3 on Lower Moors Pool, 1 Shooter’s Pool, 2 Porth Hellick, 2 on the Great Pool, Tresco and 1 on Bryher Pool.

Great Shearwater  – 40 on a mini-pelagic Bishop Rock and the Western Rocks.

Sooty Shearwater – 2 on a mini-pelagic Bishop Rock and the Western Rocks.

Manx Shearwater –  6 on a mini-pelagic Bishop Rock and the Western Rocks.

Yellow-legged Gull – 1 still of the west side of Peninnis.

Caspian Gull – A first-winter on rocks in Porth Cressa Bay, another 2 first-winters on a large rock at the mouth of Old Town Bay, a first-winter on St. Agnes Pool, a first-winter on a mini-pelagic Bishop Rock and the Western Rocks.

Great Skua –  1 on a mini-pelagic Bishop Rock and the Western Rocks.

Hobby – A juvenile over Middle Town, St. Martin’s and presumed the same over Tresco.

Kingfisher – 2 Porth Hellick, 1 Lower Moors and 1 Porth Cressa.

Wryneck – 1 on the west side of Peninnis and 1 still in a garden at Stinky Porth, Bryher.

Turtle Dove – 1 still on Tresco.

Skylark – 20 on the airfield, 1 Porth Hellick, 1 Normandy, 4 on St. Agnes and 1 on Bryher.

Ring Ouzel – 1 in a field opposite the junction of Old Town Lane/Airport Lane, 1 Pentle Bay, Tresco and 1 above Olivia’s Kitchen, Bryher.

Mistle Thrush – 1 on Porthloo Lane 1 on Telegraph Road,

Firecrest – 1 on St. Mary’s and 1 on Bryher.

Yellow-browed Warbler – 1 in the Standing Stones Field, 1 at Higher Moors Pumping Station.

Garden Warbler  – 1 in the garden opposite St. Martin’s fire station.

Lesser Whitethroat – 1 in the bushes beside Shooters’ Pool and in Old Town Churchyard

Common Redstart  – 1 on Town Beach,  1 in the garden opposite St. Martin’s fire station and 2 at southeast end of Lawrance’s Bay, St. Martin’s.

Black Redstart – 28 on St. Mary’s, 6 on Bryher and 1 on St. Martin’s

Spotted Flycatcher  – 1 Popplestone Fields, Bryher and 1 in the Parsonage garden, St. Agnes.

Tree Pipit  – 1 below Juliet’s Garden.

Brambling – 1 in the Standing Stones Field, 2 still in the with the Chaffinch flock on Porth Hellick Beach and 1 at the pheasant feeder on Borough Road, Tresco.

Siskin – 1 flew over the Standing Stones Field.

Saturday (18/10) 

American Pipit – 1 still on St. Agnes, between Barnaby Lane and St. Warna’s Cove.

Spotted Sandpiper – 1 still in St. Warna’s Cove, St. Agnes.

Dusky Warbler – 1 just north of the Tennis Courts on Pool Road, Tresco.

Greenish Warbler – 1 reported calling in Holy Vale.

Little Bunting – 1 flew from Old Town Beach to Trench Lane and then to Lower Moors, where if landed briefly beside the pool.

Quail – 1 flushed at Horse Point, St. Agnes and 1 flushed on Peninnis.

Leach’s Storm-petrel – 2 in Scilly waters, seen from the Scillonian III on the morning crossing from Penzance to St. Mary’s.

European Storm-petrel – 1 in Scilly waters, seen from the Scillonian III on the morning crossing from Penzance to St. Mary’s and c25 on the return trip.

Great Shearwater – 1 in Scilly waters, seen from the Scillonian III on the morning crossing from Penzance to St. Mary’s and 150 on the return trip.

Sooty Shearwater – 5 in Scilly waters, seen from the Scillonian III on the evening crossing from St. Mary’s to Penzance.

Manx Shearwater – 10 in Scilly waters, seen from the Scillonian III on the evening crossing from St. Mary’s to Penzance.

Little Grebe –  1 on the Great Pool Bryher.

Caspian Gull – A first-winter on the south side of Gugh Bar, 3 first-winters on Periglis and a first-winter at Morning Point, Garrison. 

Yellow-legged Gull – A first-winter on Porth Cressa Beach, an adult in Old Town Bay and 1 on the sea off the west side of Peninnis and 2 first-winters at Morning Point, Garrison.

Great Skua – 1 in Scilly waters, seen from the Scillonian III on the evening crossing from St. Mary’s to Penzance.

Pomarine Skua – 1 in Scilly waters, seen from the Scillonian III on the evening crossing from St. Mary’s to Penzance.

Arctic Skua – 1 in Scilly waters, seen from the Scillonian III on the evening crossing from St. Mary’s to Penzance.

Puffin – 1 in Scilly waters, seen from the Scillonian III on the morning crossing from Penzance to St. Mary’s and 1 on the return trip.

Short-eared Owl – 1 on Popplestone Beach, Bryher (photo).

Common Scoter – 1 of the Garrison and a second bird off Tresco.

Lapwing – 2 still on Tresco Heliport.

Grey Plover – 1 on Bryher.

Woodcock – 1 in the Dead Pine Walk on the Garrison and 1 flew from between the hides on Porth Hellick Beach.

Jack Snipe – 1 on Lower Moors Pool, 1 Shooters’ Pool and 1 on the Garrison.

Spotted Redshank – 13 flew past the Scillonian III when it was in Scilly waters.

Knot – 1 at Pendrathen, 1 at Porthloo/Porth Mellon and 1 on Gleaner Beach, Tresco.

Whimbrel – 2 at Pendrathen.

Bar-tailed Godwit – 5 at Pendrathen and 8 Pentle Bay, Tresco.

Osprey – 1 flew over St. Martin’s.

Great White Egret – 1 on Tresco,

Cattle Egret – 2 in a cattle field west of Longstone.

Little Egret – 5 on Merrick Island.

Kingfisher – 2 at Pendrathen and 1 Old Town Bay.

Wryneck – 1 still on the west side of Peninnis and 1 still in a garden at Stinky Porth, Bryher.

Skylark – 6 flew south over Pelistry, 4 flew over Porth Cressa, 1 flew over Town Beach and 8 Middle Town, St. Martin’s.

Firecrest – 10 on St. Mary’s and 2 on St. Agnes

Yellow-browed Warbler – 1 on Pungies Lane, 1 on Pottery Lane, Garrison, 1 Shooters’ Pool, 1 north of the road at Higher Moors, 1 Newford Duck Pond, 1 Carreg Dhu Gardens, 1 on Porth Hellick Beach and 1 by the dump on Bryher.

Garden Warbler – 1 on Porthloo Beach.

Lesser Whitethroat – 1 in the scrub by Porth Mellon holiday cottages.

Ring Ouzel – 1 in a field opposite the junction of Old Town Lane/Airport Lane and 1 on Bryher.

Mistle Thrush – 1 flew along the east side of Peninnis,

Spotted Flycatcher – 1 in the Dump Clump.

Common Redstart – 1 in Holy Vale.

Black Redstart – 21+ on St. Mary’s and 5 on Bryher.

Yellow Wagtail – 1 flew west over Old Town Churchyard.

Siskin – 30 on the southern edge of Abbey Gardens, Tresco, 2 on the Garrison, 2 Longstone and 1 Pelistry.

Brambling – 1 still on Porth Hellick Beach, 1 still in the Standing Stones Field, 1 on the Garrison and 1 flew north over Longstone.

Sooty Shearwater – 1 past Horse Point, St. Agnes.

Great Skua – 1 past Horse Point, St. Agnes.

Caspian Gull – 1 first-winter in the gull roost on Periglis, St. Agnes.

Merlin – 1 over Little Porth and 1 on Tresco.

Kingfisher – 1 Porth Mellon.

Wryneck – 1 at the bottom of Barnaby Lane, St. Agnes.

Skylark – 14 in the Standing Stones Field and 8 on the airfield.

Yellow Browed Warbler – 1 in Lower Moors, 1 Newford Duck Pond, 1 by Higher Moors Pumping Station, 1 opposite the new build field McFarland’s Down and 1 Pool Road Tresco.

Garden Warbler – 1 in a garden in Hugh Town.

Lesser Whitethroat – 1 in the Dump Clump and 1 by Grinlinton Farmhouse, St. Agnes.

Firecrest – 1 Lower Broome, Garrison Walls, 2 around the Cadet Hut on the Garrison, 1 in the sunken garden at top of Porthloo Lane, 10 around the Parsonage area, St. Agnes, 1 Pool Road, Tresco and 1 on Gugh.

Ring Ouzel – 1 on Tresco Heliport and 1 on the coastal path between St. Warna’s Cove & Castella, St. Agnes.

Mistle Thrush – 1 in fields north of Pelistry Riding Stables and 1 on Sandy Lane.

Spotted Flycatcher – 1 on Old Town Churchyard, 1 in the Parsonage Garden, St. Agnes and 1 on Pool Road, Tresco.

Common Redstart – 1 New Grimsby Harbour, Tresco.

Black Redstart – 35+ on St. Mary’s.

Whinchat – 1 McFarland’s Down and 1 by Abbey Pool, Tresco.

Tree Pipit – 1 on the Airfield.

Siskin – 12 flew over Kittydown and 1 flew over the Garrison.

Brambling – 1 still in the Standing Stones Field, 1 in a field opposite Normandy Corner and 1 Parsonage area, St. Agnes.
