Purple Heron – 1 High over Hugh Town, Also seen on Lower Moord Pool in the evening

Marsh Harrier – 1 on St. Helen’s.

Green Sandpiper – 1 flew from the  muddy scrape in the garden of the staff accommodation behind Star Castle on the Garrison and possibly the same bird on Simpson’s Field, Tresco.

Bottlenose Dolphin – 2 south of Annet

Thursday (03/07)

Black-tailed Godwit – 1 on Tresco Great Pool

Sandwich Tern – 1 calling over Hugh Town, a definite precursor to autumn.

Common Swift – 2 over Holy Vale, 2 flew northeast over the Daymark, St. Martin’s and 6 over Tresco Estate Office.

Crossbill – 1 flew south over the garden of Star Castle staff accommodation and 1 flew over the road down to Holy Vale.

Friday (04/07)

Hobby – 1 over holy Vale and it or another over the Garrison

Mediterranean Gull – 24 on Stony Island

Sandwich Tern – 1 on Stony Island.

Common Swift – 2 over Hugh Town.

Saturday (05/07)

European Storm-petrel – 35 ringed at Porth Wreck 22:45 -00:30

Mediterranean Gull – 1 in Old Town Bay.

Sunday (06/07)

Semi-palmated Plover  – 1 flew into Porth  Hellick Pool and at times showed exceptionally well (photo). This is the 14th record for Scilly, the last was in 2017.

Wilson’s Storm-petrel  – 6 on an evening pelagic trip 9 miles south of St. Mary’s (photo).

European Storm-petrel – 90 on an evening pelagic trip 9 miles south of St. Mary’s.

Sooty Shearwater – 1 on an evening pelagic trip 9 miles south of St. Mary’s.

Green Sandpiper  – 1 on Tresco.

Yellow-legged Gull  – 1 on an evening pelagic trip 9  miles south of St. Mary’s.

Wilson’s Storm-petrel  – 2 on an evening pelagic trip 10 miles south of St. Mary’s.

European Storm-petrel  – c80 on an evening pelagic trip 10 miles south of St. Mary’s.

Common Sandpiper – 1 on Wingletang Down, St. Agnes.

Tuesday (08/07)

Semi-palmated Plover  –  The bird was again on Porth Hellick Pool very briefly before flying off towards the airfield.

Wilson’s Storm-petrel –  3 on a chartered evening pelagic trip 9 miles south of St. Mary’s.

European Storm-petrel – 120 on the chartered evening pelagic trip 9 miles south of St. Mary’s.

Sooty Shearwater – 1 on the chartered evening pelagic trip 9 miles south of St. Mary’s.

Shoveler –  A drake and 3 females  were on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Pochard –  3 drakes, a female and 2 young on Abby Pool, Tresco.

Hobby –  ! flew over the Garrison.

Short-beaked Common Dolphin – 12 on the chartered evening pelagic trip 9 miles south of St. Mary’s.

Blue Shark – 1 on the chartered evening pelagic trip 9 miles south of St. Mary’s.

Ocean Sunfish – 1 on the chartered evening pelagic trip 9 miles south of St. Mary’s
