Tuesday (06/05) 

Purple Heron – Reports from St. Agnes, Bryher, Tresco and several locations on St. Mary’s, probably involved 20 possibly 3 individuals.

Great White Egret  – 1 in Lower Moors.

Great Northern Diver – 3 in Par Beach Bay, St. Martin’s.

Common Sandpiper  – 1 at Periglis, St. Agnes.

Whimbrel – 2 at Porthloo, 2 over Hugh Town and 1 1 over Higher Moors.

Mediterranean Gull – 1 in Porth Killier, St. Agnes.

Red Kite – 2 over Pelistry

Marsh Harrier  – A female was seen on several islands.

Hobby – 1 on Bryher and 1 on St. Martin’s.

Common Swift – 1 over Holy Vale and 1 over St. Martin’s.

Turtle Dove  – 2 in a ploughed field opposite  Carn Friars Farm, 1 by Normandy House, 2 at Pelistry, 2 Son St. Martin’s and 2 on Bryher.

Cuckoo  – Fron timings and locations there was an estimated 6+ across the

Rook – 1 in a field at Kittydown.

Garden Warbler – 1 near the fire station on Bryher.

Common Whitethroat – 1 in the Standing Stones Field, 2 on Bryher and 1 on St. Martin’s.

Black Redstart – A female at Porthloo.

Pied Flycatcher – 1 on the Porth Hellick Loop Trail and 2 on Bryher.

Tree Pipit – 1 at the junction of Pungies Lane & Trenoweth and 3 on Bryher.
Yellow Wagtail – An intergrade flava was on Bryher.

Wednesday (07/05) 

Citrine Wagtail – A male was by the  Great Pool, Bryher (photo).

Great White Egret – 1 in Old Town Bay and 1 Bar Point.

Great Northern Diver – 1 was seen flying towards the Crim and 2 off Higher Town, St. Martin’s.

Purple Sandpiper – 6 on Bishop Rock.

Whimbrel – 1 on Porthloo Beach.

Bar=tailed Godwit – 2 on Middle Town Beach, St. Martin’s.

Marsh Harrier – 1 on St. Martin’s.

Red Kite – 1 circling over Pelistry, 1 over Porth Hellick Down and 1 over New Grimsby, Tresco.

Hobby – 1 in a bush on Peninnis Farm and 1 over Tresco.

Turtle Dove – 3 in a field opposite Carn Friars Farm Shop, 4 in a field by Normandy Corner, 4 on St. Martin’s and 1 by the church on St. Agnes.

Cuckoo – 1 at Carn Thomas,2 on St. Martin’s and 2 on Bryher.

Rook – 1 at Porth Hellick Pool.

Raven – 1 on St. Martin’s.

Golden Oriole – 1 on Sandy Lane.

Grasshopper Warbler – 1 reeling at English Island Point, St. Martin’s.

Garden Warbler – 1 at Trenoweth.

Black Redstart – The female was still at Porthloo.

Pied Flycatcher – 1 on Porthloo Lane opposite Bishop’s View.

Tree Pipit – 1 in the Lower Town fields, St. Martin’s.

Redpoll – 1 flew over Deep Point.

Thursday (08/05) 

Purple Heron – 1 on Abey Pool, Tresco and then flew towards Bryher.

Great White Egret – 1 on Tresco and 1 on St. Agnes.

Great Northern Diver –3 in =summer plumage in Higher Town Bay, St. Martin’s.

Shoveler – 1 on Tresco.

Wigeon– 1 on St,Agnes.1 on St, Agnes.

Common Sandpiper – 1 on St. Agnes. 1 flew over Hugh Town late evening.

Whimbrel – 20 on St. Agnes. 1 Old Town Bay and 2 on Bryher

Red Kite – 1 over Telegraph, 1 over Higher Town, St. Martin’s and 1 over the Great Pool, Tresco.

Hobby – 1 over Tresco.

Turtle Dove – 2 on St. Agnes and 1 on Bryher.

Cuckoo – 1 in  the pines west of Jac-a-ba on Tresco, and 1 on Bryher.

Lesser Whitethroat – 1 on St. Agnes,

Spotted Flycatcher – 2 on St. Agnes.

Pied Flycatcher– 1 on the track to Cove Vean, St. Agnes.

White Wagtail – 1 on St. Agnes.

Blue-headed Wagtail – 1 on St. Agnes.

Friday (09/05) 

Red-rumped Swallow – 1 at Periglis, St. Agnes and it our another briefly by the gate  from the road to Porth Hellick Pool

Purple Heron – 1 flew from Bryher to Tresco.

Golden Oriole –2 in Carreg Dhu Gardens.

Great Northern Diver – 1 in Porth Cressa Bay and 12+south of Samspn.

Purple Sandpiper – 18 on Bishop Rock and 1 on the Western Rocks.

Osprey – 1 over seen from several locations on St. Mary’s.

Red Kite – 2 or 3 over St. Mary’s and 1  over the Blockhouse on Tresco.

Hobby – 1 over Porth Hellick.

Merlin – 1 flew from Bryher to Tresco.

Common Swift – 4 or 5 0ver St. Mary’s and 1 was over Bryher church.

Common Whitethroat – 1 in Longstone Cottage garden.

Garden Warbler – 1 in Longstone Cottage garden.

Yellow Wagtail – 1 on Tressco cricket pitch.

Siskin – 1 flew east over Porth Hellick crossroads.

Saturday (10/05) 

Golden Oriole – 1 in the elms between Trenoweth and Bristow

Great White Eget – 1 flew over Hugh Town Quay, 1 was at Perseil, St. Martin’s and 1 was fishing in Periglis Bay, St. Agnes.

Whimbrel – 1 in Old Town Bay, 1 between Blue Carn and the airfield tuning circle and 1 just south of Church Quay, Bryher,

Red Kite – 1 over Mount Todden and 1 flew from Tresco, over Teän towards St. Martin’s.

Hobby – 1 flew west over Rocky Hill, 1 flew over Hugh Town and 2 flew over Longstone Lodge.

Common Swift – 2 flew northeast over Hugh Town.

Turtle Dove – 3  in the pines between Seven Stones Inn and Middle Town Barn, St. Martin’s.

Cuckoo – 1 prospecting a Rock Pipit’s nest between Blue Carn and the airfield tuning circle.

Lesser Whitethroat – 1 by the Carn Friars Farm rack to Porth Hellick Beach.

Repoll – 1 flew south over Longstone.
