Hooded Crow – The bird that has been around for a few days, flew over
the dump towards Porth Mellon.

Willow Warbler – The first of the year was at Longstone.

Wednesday (18/03)
Little Egret – 4 Porthloo Beach.
Merlin – 1 on Peninnis
Sand Martin – 1 at Porth Hellick was the first of the year.
Willow Warbler – 1 at Bant’s Carn.
Wheatear – The first reports of the year were  1 on Porth Hellick down,
1 by the coastal footpath at Carn Morval.
Black Redstart – 1in a garden on High Lanes, 1 Longstone Café, 1 in the
gardens at Bay View Terrace and 1 at Borough Farm
White Wagtail – 8 on Porthloo Beach.

Thursday (19/03)
Hoopoe – 1 on the coastal path at St. Warna’s Cove, St. Agnes which then
flew inland.
Jackdaw flew over Porth Hellick towards Salakee.
Merlin– 1 on Bryher.
Sand Martin  – 2 at Porthloo Duck Pond and 2 on Bryher.
Blackcap – 2 on Bryher.
Willow Warbler – 1 on Bryher.
Chiffchaff – 30 on Bryher.
Ring Ouzel – The first of the year was an early bird in Stinking Porty
Gardens, Bryher.
Black Redstart – 15 on Bryher,  4 Little Porth, 1 Porthloo Beach, 1 on
Church Road. Hugh Town, 1 at Blue Carn and 1 St. Warna’s Cove, St.
Agnes.
White Wagtail – 4 in a horse field at Pelistry, 1 Porthloo Beach, 1
Little Porth, 4 with the Tremelethen chickens and 4 at Periglis, St.
Agnes.
Wheatear – 7 on Bryher, 1 at Blue Carn and 1 on Castella Down, St.
Agnes.
Siskin  – 1 on a feeder in Holy Vale (photo).

Friday (20/03)
Manx Shearwater – 50+ in Scilly waters seen from the Scillonian III on
the morning crossing from Penzance to St. Mary’s.
Great Skua – 1 in Scilly waters seen from the Scillonian III on the
morning crossing from Penzance to St. Mary’s.
Puffin – 2 in Scilly waters seen from the Scillonian III on the morning
crossing from Penzance to St. Mary’s.
Redwing – 2 in the Standing Stones Field.
Sand Martin – 1 St. Agnes.
White Wagtail – 4 at Porthloo and 2 St. Agnes.
Willow Warbler – 2 in Lower Moors and 2 St. Agnes.
Wheatear – 2 on the Garrison, 3 Salakee Down, 3 on the path below Bant’s
Carn and 1 St. Agnes.
Black Redstart – 3 on the Garrison, 1 Salakee Down, 1 Bant’s Carn and 1
Periglis, St. Agnes.
Redpoll – 1 on a feeder in Holy Vale (photo).
Bluefin Tuna – 5+ in Scilly waters seen from the Scillonian III on the
morning crossing from Penzance to St. Mary’s.

Saturday (21/03)
Great Northern Diver  – 17 between Annet and Samson.
Mediterranean Gull  – 1 on St. Martin’s Flats.
Sandwich Tern  –  The first reports of the year were 2 at Periglis, St.
Agnes and 1 flying east past Deep Point.
Puffin  – 17 on Annet.
Black Redstart – 1 in a paddock east of Pelistry Riding Stables.
Wheatear – 7 Deep Point
Redpoll – 1 still visiting a feeder in Holy Vale garden.
Crossbill  – A female from Mount Todden pines.

Sunday (22/03)
GREAT SPOTTED CUCKOO – A bird thought to be this species was seen near
Perpitch, St. Martin’s. It flew up the slope and appeared to drop into
the gorse above Bread and Cheese Cove. Despite intensive searching it
could not be relocated.
Grey Plover  – 1 on St. Martin’s.
Sandwich Tern  – Several on St. Martin’s.
Sand Martin  – 3 over Porth Hellick Pool and several on St. Martin’s.
Wheatear  – 6 on St. Martin’s.
Black Redstart  – 1 singing in Silver Street, Hugh Town.
