Rose-coloured Starling – 1 still on roofs in Old Town.
Common Rosefinch – 1 still on Porth Hellick Beach.
Red-breasted Flycatcher – 1 still near the fire station on St. Martin’s.
Little Bunting – 1 near the “Pot Buoys” Gallery, St. Agnes.
Lapland Bunting – 1 still on Wingletang and 1 flew over Lower Town Farm, St. Agnes.
Great White Egret – 1 Lawrence Bay, St. Martin’s.
Cattle Egret – 2 in a field on Pool Road, Tresco.
Little Egret – 12 Porthloo.
Spoonbill – 2 on Green Island, Samson.
Wigeon – 1 on the Great Pool.
Black-necked Grebe – 1 still of South Beach, Tresco.
Little Grebe – 2 on the Great Pool.
Lapwing – 1 flew over Higher Town, St. Martin’s.
Golden Plover – 1 flew over the Garrison.
Woodcock – 2 flew from Newford Duck Pond towards Watermill and 1 was by St. Martin’s Cricket Pitch.
Jack Snipe – 8 Porth Hellick Pool, 5 Lower Moors, 1 Carreg Dhu, 1 Toll’s Porth, 1 on the Great Pool, Tresco and 1 Bryher Pool.
Bar-tailed Godwit – 1 Pendrathen and 1 on Middle Town Beach, St. Martin’s.
Whimbrel – 2 on Porthloo Beach and 1 Pendrathen.
Yellow-legged Gull – 1 still on the sea on the west side of Peninnis.
Merlin – 1 St. Martin’s.
Marsh Harrier – 1 flew over Pentle Bay, Tresco.
Wryneck – 1 in the orchard maze on Carn Friars Farm, 1 Barnaby Lane, St. Agnes and 1 still in a garden near Stinky Porth, Bryher.
Kingfisher – 1 Porth Cressa and 1 Lower Moors Pool.
Turtle Dove – 1 at the pheasant feeders on Borough Road, Tresco.
Skylark – 2 flew over Porth Hellick.
Redwing – An obvious influx of several 100 birds.
Fieldfare – Another obvious arrival of about birds.
Ring Ouzel – 12+ on St. Mary’s, 3 on Tresco, 1 St. Agnes , 2 Bryher and 3 St. Martin’s.
Mistle Thrush – 1 flew over Porth Hellick, 1 on the Golf Course. 2 flew over the junction of Telegraph Road/ Porthloo Lane and 1 on St. Martin’s.
Firecrest : 14+ on St. Mary’s and 2 on Bryher
Yellow-browed Warbler – 1 Newford Duck Pond, 1 at Woolpack, Garrison,1 by Shooters’ Pool , 1 in the Standing Stones Field, 1 Holy Vale and 1 in Middle Town Pines. St. Martin’s.
Garden Warbler – 1 Lower Broome, Garrison Walls
Lesser Whitethroat – 1 still in the Standing Stones Field and 1 Green Farm.
Common Redstart – 1 at Pelistry Riding Stables and 1 south of Culver’s Hole, St. Martin’s.
Black Redstart – 12+ on St. Mary’s, 2 on St. Martin’s and 1 on Tresco.
Spotted Flycatcher – 1 in Old Town Churchyard, 1 by the Shooting Club on the Garrison, and 1 at Woolpack, Garrison Walls
Brambling – 1 still in the Standing Stones Field, 1 on Porth Hellick Beach and 2 at the pheasant feeders on Borough Road, Tresco.

Crossbill – 1 in the pines at Rowesfield Cottage, Tresco.

Radde’s Warbler – A “probable” was heard calling 50 meters east of Porth Hellick Beach.
Short-toed Lark – 1 seen on the north end of Gugh flew towards the pool on St. Agnes.
Common Rosefinch – 1 still on Porth Hellick Beach.
Red-breasted Flycatcher – 1 at Little Arthur Farm, St. Martin’s and 1 still near the Fire Station, St. Martin’s.
European Storm-petrel – 4 seen on a daytime pelagic trip between the Western Rocks and 14 miles southwest of St. Mary’s and 6+ seen in Scilly waters from the Scillonian III on the return trip from St. Mary’s to Penzance.
Great Shearwater – 300 seen on a daytime pelagic trip between the Western Rocks and 14 miles southwest of St. Mary’s and 40 seen in Scilly waters from the Scillonian III on the return trip from St. Mary’s to Penzance.
Sooty Shearwater – 15 seen on a daytime pelagic trip between the Western Rocks and 14 miles southwest of St. Mary’s and 1 seen in Scilly waters from the Scillonian III on the return trip from St. Mary’s to Penzance.
Manx Shearwater – 10 seen on a daytime pelagic trip between the Western Rocks and 14 miles southwest of St. Mary’s and 3 seen in Scilly waters from the Scillonian III on the return trip from St. Mary’s to Penzance.
Yellow-legged Gull – 1 still on the rocks west of Peninnis Lighthouse.
Great Skua – 6 seen on a daytime pelagic trip between the Western Rocks and 14 miles southwest of St. Mary’s.
Puffin – 7 seen on a daytime pelagic trip between the Western Rocks and 14 miles southwest of St. Mary’s and 2 seen in Scilly waters from the Scillonian III on the return trip from St. Mary’s to Penzance.
Orca – 3 (2 adults and a calf) seen on a daytime pelagic trip between the Western Rocks and 14 miles southwest of St. Mary’s. They are thought to be the same pod seen on a pelagic trip in July and are “Vega Pod”.
Short-beaked Common Dolphin – 100 seen on a daytime pelagic trip between the Western Rocks and 14 miles southwest of St. Mary’s.
Great White Egret –1 flew northeast over Tresco and later on the Great Pool and it or another at Stinky Porth, Bryher.
Cattle Egret – 2 in fields north of the Great Pool, Tresco and 1 at Trewince.
Little Egret – 8 roosting on Porthloo and 2 Porth Hellick.
Lapwing – Up to 4 were seen around the islands.
Golden Plover – 1 over Longstone.
Woodcock – 1 flushed from the top of Kittydown and 1 Buzza.
Jack Snipe – At least 14 on Lower Moors Pool, 1 Shooters’ Pool, 12 Porth Hellick of which 5 were trapped & ringed, 1 Holy Vale, 1 flew over the Cadet Hut on the Garrison, 1 on Castella Down, St. Agnes, 1 Castle Down, Tresco, 3 on St. Martin’s, 1 near the Bryher Pool and 1 Gweal Hill, Bryher.
Common Sandpiper – 1 on St. Martin’s.
Purple Sandpiper – 2 on Bishop Rock.
Black-tailed Godwit – 3 Bar Point and 1 Abbey Pool, Tresco.
Whimbrel – 5 on Toll’s Island, Pelistry Bay.
Yellow-legged Gull – an adult on Periglis, St. Agnes
Merlin – 1 over Peninnis, 1 Porth Hellick, 1 flew over Abbey Pool, Tresco and 1 at Stinky Porth, Bryher.

Yellow-browed Warbler – 1 Woolpack, Garrison, 1 still in the Standing Stones Field, 1 Shooters’ Pool, 1 Sandy Lane, 1 Longstone, 2 Old Grimsby, Tresco, 1 Appletree Glade, Bryher and 2 by school on St. Agnes.
Lesser Whitethroat – 1 Porth Hellick, 1 Shooter’s Pool and 1 west of the Pot Buoys Gallery, St. Agnes.
Grasshopper Warbler – 1 trapped and ringed at Porth Hellick Ringing Station/
Spotted Flycatcher – 1 Old Grimsby, Tresco and 1 in Middle Town Pines, St. Martin’s.
Common Redstart – 1 Content and 2 on St. Martin’s.
Black Redstart – 21 on St. Mary’s, 2 Bryher 1 on Tresco, 4 St. Martin’s and 2 on St. Agnes.
Whinchat – 1 at Porth Hellick
Tree Pipit – 1 on Bryher.
Brambling – 1 still in Standing Stones Field and 2 on Porth Hellick Beach
Redpoll – 6 Porth Hellick, 1 flew over Garrison Campsite. 1 Old Grimsby, Tresco, 1 over Abbey Pool, Tresco and 1 flew over Wingletang, St. Agnes.
Siskin – 4 at Longstone and 1 on the Garrison.
Crossbill –1 King Edward’s Road.
Reed Bunting – 1 in Lower Moors.
Thursday (16/10)
Mourning Dove – 1 still at the “Threshing Mill” Lower Town Farm, St. Agnes.
American Pipit – 1 still on St. Agnes, between Barnaby Lane and St. Warna’s Cove.
Red-throated Pipit – 1 in the central pig fields, Bryher.
Tawny Pipit – A large pipit seen on King Edward’s Road, Peninnis which then flew towards the airfield was thought to be a Tawny Pipit’
Lapland Bunting – 1 on the airfield.
Common Rosefinch – 1 still on Porth Hellick Beach.
Red-breasted Flycatcher – 2 still on St. Martin’s, 1 near the Fire Station (photo) and 1 behind the Cricket Pitch.
Stone Curlew – 1 heard wailing over St. Agnes Campsite at 03:30 was seen on Rocks in Old Town Bay and then flew towards Peninnis before settling in Great Par, Bryher. It was photographed and seen to be colour ringed with a green on the right leg and blue on the left.
Common Scoter – 1 off Porth Mellon Beach.
Great White Egret – 1 flew from Bryher to Tresco and 1 in Lawrence’s Bay, St. Martin’s.
Little Egret – 8 on Porthloo Beach and 5 in Tresco Channel.
Cattle Egret – At least 2 in fields around Parting Carn/Old Town and 2 with cows in a field on Pool Road, Tresco.
Lapwing – 1 on St. Martin’s and 1 flew over Carreg Dhu Gardens and 2 on Tresco Heliport.
Grey Plover – 1 on St. Agnes.
Golden Plover – 6 on the airfield and 1 Bryher.
Woodcock – 2 Lower Moors and 1 Holy Vale.
Jack Snipe – 8 on Lower Moors, 5 Porth Hellick Pool, 1 flew over Holy Vale, 1 Shooters’ Pool, 2 flushed in the Standing Stones Field, 1 Porthloo Lane.2 Castle Down, Tresco and 1 on Bryher Pool

Caspian Gull – A near adult was in Porth Cressa Bay, a 3rd-winter bird was on Pilchard Pool, a first-winter bird at the outflow off Morning Point, Garrison and another at the south end of Gugh.
Marsh Harrier – 1 over Samson.
Merlin – 1 on the golf course and 1 Pelistry.
Kingfisher – 1 at Lawrance’s Bay, St. Martin’s.
Wryneck – 1 still in the orchard maze on Carn Friars Farm and 1 still in the garden at Stinky Porth, Bryher.

Mistle Thrush – 1 on Sandy Lane and 1 on Porthloo Lane in a field opposite Bishop’s View.
Firecrest – 12+ on St. Mary’s 1, 1 om St. Agnes and 1 Bryher.
Siberian Chiffchaff – 1 sallow in a field on Carn Friars Farm track and 1 Lower Moors.
Yellow-browed Warbler – 1 Standing Stones Field and 1 at Borough Farm, Tresco.
Willow Warbler – A “ Northern type” in Lower Moors
Lesser Whitethroat – 2 in the hedge of the Apple Maze field on Carn Friar’s.
Black Redstart – 10 on Porth Cressa Beach, 3 on Old Town Beach, 5 Porthloo, 1 on Carn Friars, 1 on King Edward’s Road Peninnis, 3 Great Par, Bryher, 1 near Lower Town Quay, St. Martin’s and 1 on St. Martin’s Cricket Pitch.
