Melodious Warbler – 1 was again I the pines at the back of the Garrison Tennis Courts.

Yellow-browed Warbler –The first 2 of the autumn were both on St. Agnes, 1 on Barnaby Lane and 1 east of the Big Pool.

Woodchat Shrike – The juvenile was still on a hedge  of a cattle field Back Lane, Tresco.

Cattle Egret – 1 was in the same field as the Woodchat.

Glossy Ibis – 1 flew off Porth Hellick Pool towards Deep Point and was then seen flying over the Golf Course, over Porthloo & the harbour.

White Stork – 1 which spent several hours over St. Mary’s was photographed. The photos showed to be ringed and was from the Cove Valley breeding project.

Corncrake – 1 on the road by Porthloo House before flying into the garden

European Storm Petrel – 4 on a pelagic trip 8 miles WSW of St. Mary’s.

Cory’s Shearwater – 60 on a pelagic trip 8 miles WSW of St. Mary’s, 30 near the Bishop Rock and 100 past Giant’s Castle.

Great Shearwater – 60 on a pelagic trip 8 miles WSW of St. Mary’s and 26 near the Bishop Rock

Sooty Shearwater – 2 on a pelagic trip 8 miles WSW of St. Mary’s.

Great Skua – 4 on a pelagic trip 8 miles WSW of St. Mary’s (photo).

Grey Phalarope – 3 on a pelagic trip 8 miles WSW of St. Mary’s (photo).

Common Scoter – 1 off the Steval,

Dotterel – 1 still in Castle Down.

Curlew Sandpiper – 1 Little Porth and 1 on Porth Mellon.

Little Stint – 1 on Porthloo Beach.

Ruff – 1 on St. Martin’s.

Bar-tailed Godwit – 1 on Porthloo Beach. 

Whimbrel – 1 on Porthloo Beach.

Common Swift – 1 was over the Higher Moors/Tremelethen area.

Wryneck – 1 on the Ropewalk off Porthloo Lane, 1 at Halangy and 1 west of the Tresco Heliport.

Lesser Whitethroat – 1 on the coastal path by Toll’s Hill.

Common Whitethroat – 1 at Green Farm and 1 on Peninnis.

Common Redstart – 1 in a field on Peninnis.

Whinchat  – 1lon e on the coastal path between Porth Mellon & Porthloo and 1 on St. Martin’s.

Redpoll – 1 in a field on the coastal path past Juliet’s Garden.

Fin Whale – 1 on a pelagic trip 8 miles WSW of St. Mary’s.

Short-beaked Common Dolphin – 150 on a pelagic trip 8 miles WSW of St. Mary’s. and 30 near the Bishop Rock.

Blue Shark – 2 on a pelagic trip 8 miles WSW of St. Mary’s.

Atlantic Bluefin Tuna – 10 on a pelagic trip 8 miles WSW of St. Mary’s. 

Ocean Sunfish – 1 on a pelagic trip 8 miles WSW of St. Mary’s. 

Wednesday (24/09)

White Stork – 1 of the birds from the release scheme in Cove Valley, North Devon was on the Great Pool, Tresco and then toured Tresco, Bryer and St. Mary’s (photo).It had a yellow ring with CV42 in black lettering.

Great white Egret – What was probably the same individual was seen on Teän, flying into flew into Stinky Porth, Bryher and below Cliff Fields, Tresco.

Little Egret – 2 on Porthloo Beach.

Ortolan Bunting – 1 on the Pitch & Put, Bryher.

Red-backed Shrike –1 northeast of Higher Town, St. Martin’s.

Woodchat Shrike – The juvenile was still along Back Lane, Tresco.

Melodious Warbler – 1still in the Garrison pines next to the tennis court.

Marsh Harrier – 1

 was over South hill, Bryher.

Hobby  – 1 hawking insects over Wingletang, St. Agnes.

European Storm-petrel –  1 in Scilly waters, seen from the Scillonian III on the evening  crossing from St. Mary’s to Penzance.

Cory’s Shearwater – 1 near the Bishop.

Great Shearwater – 1 in Scilly waters, seen from the Scillonian III on the morning crossing from Penzance to St. Mary’s and 2 near the Bishop.

Sooty Shearwater – 1 off the Western Rocks.

Arctic Skua – 2 near the Bishop.

Common Scoter –  2 in Scilly waters, seen from the Scillonian III on the evening  crossing from St. Mary’s to Penzance.

Curlew Sandpiper  – 1 on Porth Hellick Pool in the evening, 1 still on Periglis Beach, St. Agnes and on Bryher 1 flew over Popplestone Beach towards Shipman Head Down.

Green Sandpiper – 1 on Porth Hellick Pool.

Common Sandpiper – 1 on Porth Cressa Beach.

Bar-tailed Godwit – 1 on Porthloo Beach.

Black-tailed Godwit – 1 on Porthloo Beach.

Kingfisher – 1 on the pool in Standing Stines Field.

Wryneck – 1 still on Porthloo Farm of the Ropewalk.

Raven – 1 on Tresco.

Grasshoppers Warbler – 1 in farm fields at Porthloo.

Common Whitethroat – 1 on Bryher.

Lesser Whitethroat – 1 on Bryher.

Spotted Flycatcher – 1 Higher Moors, 1 on the Dead Pine Walk on the Garrison and 3 on Bryher.

Pied Flycatcher Shearwater – 1 Higher Moors, 1 near the Garrison tennis court and 1 on Bryher.

Common Redstart – 1 in the field opposite the entrance to Carn Friars Farm and 2 on Bryher.

Black Redstart – The first of the autumn, was 1 on Penzance Road, Tresco.

Whinchat – 1 Higher Moors, 1 Porthloo, 2 on Back Lane, Tresco and 1 on Bryher.

Grey Wagtail –2 Porth Hellick/Higher Moors.

White Wagtail – 1 on Bryher.

Brambling – 1 at Borough Farm, St. Mary’s.

Thursday (25/09)

Semi-palmated Sandpiper – 1 at Stinky Porth, Bryher.

Red-backed shrike – 1 still on Flagstaff Hill, St. Martin’s. 

White Stork– 1 seen around St, Martin’s  and over St. Mary’s was a different bird from the 1 seen on Tuesday & Wednesday. It had a blue ring with the number 45  and may possibly be one of those released at Knepp.

Great White Egret – 1 flew north over Higher Town, St. Martin’s.

Cattle Egret – 1 in the Cliff Fields on Tresco.

Spoonbill – 9 landed on Samson.

Great & Cory’s Shearwaters – 100s of mixed large shearwaters north of Crebawethan, Western Rocks, and 50 of each  near Crim Rocks.

Sooty Shearwater – 1 in Scilly waters, seen from the Scillonian III on the morning crossing from Penzance to St. Mary’s.

Great Skua – 1 in Scilly waters, seen from the Scillonian III on the morning crossing from Penzance to St. Mary’s.

otterel – 1 on the Golf Course.

Golden Plover – 1 flew over Pump Lane .

Curlew Sandpiper – 1 on Porthloo Beach, 1 on Porth Hellick Pool, 1 Pentle Bay, Tresco, 1 still on Periglis Beach, St. Agnes and 2 at Stinky Porth, Bryher.

Common Sandpiper – 1 in Porth Wreck.

Bar-tailed Godwit – 1 on Porthloo Beach.

Bkack-tailed Godwit – 1 on Porthloo Beach.

Marsh Harrier – 1 west of Hell Bay, Bryher.

Short-eared Owl  – 1 flew from the Northern Rocks towards Samson.

Hobby – 1+ on St. Mary’s and 1 over Higher Town, St. Martin’s.

Kingfisher – 1 at Porth Wreck, 1 Porth Hellick Pool and 2 on Bryher Pool.

Yellow-browed Warbler – 1 in Tresco Churchyard and 1 on Back Lane, Tresco.

Grasshopper Warbler – 1 at Longstone and 2 near the Woolpack accommodation on the Garrison.

Spotted Flycatcher – 2 in the Garrison Pines, 5 on Bryher and 1 on St. Martin’s.

Pied Flycatcher – 2 in the Garrison pines and 2 on Bryher.

Common Redstart – 1 on the Pitch & Put course on Bryher.

Whinchat – 2 on Tresco.

Grey Wagtail – 2 on Porth Hellick Pool and 1 on Tresco.
