Common Swift – 1 over Longstone.

Spotted Flycatcher – 7 at Trewince and 4 in the Carn Friars area and 1 at Longstone.

Pied Flycatcher – 4 at Trewince, 1 at Newford Duck Pond, 2 in the pines at Trenoweth, 2 in a roadside hedge near Normandy and 1 in the Standing Stones Field, Lower Moors

Whinchat – ! at Borough Farm.

Tree Pipit – 2 on Gugh and 1at Borough Farm.

Thursday (21 /08)

Subalpine Warbler (sp) – A female not identified to species (Eastern or Western) was very elusive along the Garrison walls in the Redan E area.

European Storm-petrel – 20 on an evening  birding/fishing  trip 5 miles southeast of St. Mary’s and 4 in Scilly waters seen from the Scillonian III on the morning crossing from Penzance to St. Mary’s.

Cory’s Shearwater –  1 on an evening  birding/fishing  trip 5 miles southeast of St. Mary’s.

Great Shearwater –  3 on an evening  birding/sharking fishing  trip 5 miles southeast of St. Mary’s.

Sabine’s Gull –  1 in Scilly waters seen from the Scillonian III on the morning crossing from Penzance to St. Mary’s.

Arctic Skua –  1 in Scilly waters seen from the Scillonian III on the morning crossing from Penzance to St. Mary’s.

Little Egret  – 13 roosted on Simpson’s Field, Tresco and 6 were on Bryher.

Western Bonelli’s Warbler – 1 still in the pines behind the cadet hut on the Garrison, showing very occasionally and briefly.

Wilson’s Storm-petrel – 6 on a daytime  birding trip 17 miles southwest of St. Mary’ and 1 from the Scillonian III on the morning crossing from Penzance to St. Mary’s.

European Storm-petrel – 25 on a daytime  birding trip 17 miles southwest of St. Mary’s and 5 from the Scillonian III on the evening crossing from St. Mary’s to St. Mary’s.  530 were ringed overnight on Annet, with controls, retraps of birds previously ringed, from France. Jersey and the British mainland. All birds were netted at the colony without the use of tape lures. So all controls will be Scilly breeders ringed elsewhere.

Cory’s Shearwater – 4 on a daytime  birding trip 17 miles southwest of St. Mary’s 3 from the Scillonian III on the evening crossing from St. Mary’s to St. Mary’s.
