Thursday (12/06)

Purple Heron – An adult bird flew from near the ISBG hide in Lower Moors towards the Project Pool.

Golden Oriole – 1 was singing at Salakee.

Hobby  – 1 flew over St. Agnes Campsite.

Yellow-legged Gull – An adult on Gugh.

Cetti’s Warbler – 1 was on the northeast side of Abbey Pool, Tresco.

Friday (13/06)

Purple Heron – 1 was on Lower Moors Pool very early morning

Lapwing – 1 was on Simpson’s Field, Tresco.

Sandwich Tern –1 at Pentle Bay, Tresco.

Saturday (14/06)

Honey Buzzard – 1 flew over the centre of St. Mary’s.

Purple Heron – 1 flew from Porth Hellick, over Longstone and dropped into Lower Moors.

Serin – 1 was singing in the pine belt between Longstone and Tremelethen Farm.

Little Egret – 1 on Samson.

Whimbrel – 1 on Samson.

Common Gull – 1 at Porth Hellick

Monarch Butterfly – 1 flew past the Duchy Offices on the Garrison and it or another later flew past Dibble & Grub Café.

Sunday (15/06)

Little Bittern – 1 was found in the reeds at Lower Moors Pool  in the evening.

Purple Heron – A juvenile bird dropped into trees behind Lower Moors Pool.

Honey Buzzard – 1 1 seen several times around St. Mary’s and also over the southeast end of the Great Pool, Tresco.

Whimbrel – 5 on Green Island.

Mediterranean Gull – 5  on the Foreman Isles.

Monday (16/06)

Little Bittern – The female was still at Lower Moors Pool.

Wilson’s Storm-petrel – The first of the tear was 1 on the first evening fishing/pelagic trip 3.5 miles southwest of Bishop Rock.

Purple Heron – An adult was at Lower Moors Pool.

Hawfinch – 1 calling in the garden of Longstone Cottage.

Honey Buzzard – 1 seen several times over St, Mary’s

European Storm Petrel  – 10 on the evening fishing/pelagic trip 3.5 miles southwest of Bishop Rock.

Sooty Shearwater – 1 on the evening fishing/pelagic trip 3.5 miles southwest of Bishop Rock.

Manx Shearwater – 100 on the evening fishing/pelagic trip 3.5 miles southwest of Bishop Rock.

Hobby – 1 high over Hugh Town.

Mediterranean Gull – 2 off St. Agnes in Smith Sound, 5 on St. Martin’s and 3 in Pentle Bay, Tresco.

Yellow-legged Gull – An adult on Bishop Rock.

Common Gull – 1 on Porth Hellick Beach.

Common Swift – 3 over Longstone Café, and 1 on St. Martin’s.

Wheatear – 1 in Browarth Fields, St. Agnes and 1 on St. Martin’s.

Short-beaked Common Dolphin – 215 on the evening fishing/pelagic trip 3.5 miles southwest of Bishop Rock.

Ocean Sunfish – 2 on the evening fishing/pelagic trip 3.5 miles southwest of Bishop Rock.

Tuesday (17/06)

Little Bittern – The female was still at Lower Moors Pool (photo).

Purple Heron – 1 landed by the Dump Clump in the evening.

Little Egret – 1 at Porth Hellick.

Golden Plover – 1 on Wingletang Down, St. Agnes.

Manx Shearwater  – 140+ off Annet in the evening

Mediterranean Gull – 5 on Bathing House Beach, Tresco.

Marsh Harrier  – ! was over Annet.

Hobby – 1 over Lower Moors.

Common Swift – 1 at Pentle Bay. Tresco.

Cuckoo – 1 calling  above the New Inn, Tresco.
