Purple Heron – 2 still at Porth Hellick Pool

Hawfinch – 1  again made a brief visit to the garden of the staff accommodation behind Star Castle on the Garrison.

Quail –  1 flushed from the Popplestone area of Bryher.

Whimbrel –   2 on Lower Town Beach, St. Martin’s.

Hen Harrier – 1 flew high south over Bryher.

1hobby –  1 over the Garrison and it or another over the airfield.

Swift – 2 over Parting Carn.

Turtle Dove – 4 on Bryher.

Cuckoo –  1 on St. Martin’s and 1 on Tresco.

Thursday (22/05)

Purple Heron – 1 Porth Hellick, which flew off towards Lower Moors.

Goden Oriole –   1 singing in the Pentle House/Rowesfield area on Tresco and 1 above the quay on St, Agnes.

Great White Egret –   1 at New Grimsby, Tresco and 1 Porth Killier, St. Agnes.

Great Northern Diver –   1 off Nut Rock, Tresco.

Hobby – 2 over Abbey Gardens, Tresco, 1 over Porth Hellick and it or another over the airfield.

Common Swift – 3 at Old Grimsby, Tresco.

Turtle Dove –   1 at Carn Friar, 1 dropped in front of the Stephen Sussex Hide, Porth Hellick, 1 in the staff accommodation garden behind Star Castle on the Garrison and 1 on Bryher.

Spotted Flycatcher –   1 at the junction of Porthloo Lane & Telegraph Road, 2 on St. Agnes and 1 above Great Bay, Tresco.

Friday (23/05)

Purple Heron – 1 at Lower Moors Pool.

Hen Harrier – A female flew over Churchtown Farm, St. Martin’s.

Whimbrel – 6 at Browarth, St. Agnes.

Saturday (24/05)

Purple Heron – 1 flew from Middle Town towards Great Bay, St. Martin’s.

Little Egret – 1 on Abbey Pool, Tresco.

Whimbrel –2 on Gleaner Beach, Tresco.

Pochard – A drake and a pair with 5 ducklings.

Sunday (25/05)

Grear White Egret – 1 in Old Town Bay.

Hobby – 1 flew north over the Garrison.

Monday (26/05)

Coal Tit – 1 was reported by the dipping ponds in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. This is a rare bird n Scilly and if confirmed it will be the first record since one on Tresco in April 2021.

Tuesday (27/05)

Cuckoo – 1 calling in the pines above Middle Town, St. Martin’s.
