The Isles of Scilly Bird Group has been delighted to support our local Wildlife Trust in their ‘Nature for All’ appeal for Higher Moors with a donation of £10,000. Between ourselves and the West Midland Bird Club, we provided a fifth of the total amount required to carry out vital habitat and accessibility works at Higher Moors. This included the installation of a new hide overlooking Porth Hellick Pool, which is now open to the public. The new Stephen Sussex hide is significantly larger and fully wheelchair accessible. The project plans were invaluably informed by the two power-wheelchair users from Cornwall Rolling Ramblers – Steve Wilson and Annabelle Lowe.
