Glossy Ibis – 1 still touring St. Mary’s. 

Great White Egret – 1 on Teän (photo), later flew over the Great Pool, Tresco and then around Bryher.

Cattle Egret – 1 flew north over Content.

Cory’s Shearwater – 450+ on a daytime pelagic trip 16 km northeast of the islands, 78 seen in Scilly waters from the Scillonian III on the morning crossing from Penzance to St. Mary’s and “100s” of Peninnis and Horse Point

Great Shearwater – 80+ on a daytime pelagic trip 16 km northeast of the islands and 8 seen in Scilly waters from the Scillonian III on the morning crossing from Penzance to St. Mary’s and many more off headlands on the islands.

Sooty Shearwater – 10+ on a daytime pelagic trip 16 km northeast of the islands.

Manx Shearwater – 10 on a daytime pelagic trip 16 km northeast of the islands and 5 seen in Scilly waters from the Scillonian III on the morning crossing from Penzance to St. Mary’s.

European Storm-petrel – 2 on a daytime pelagic trip 16 km northeast of the islands and 248seen in Scilly waters from the Scillonian III on the morning crossing from Penzance to St. Mary’s.

Great Skua – 4 on a daytime pelagic trip 16 km northeast of the islands.

Pomarine Skua – 1 on a daytime pelagic trip 16 km northeast of the islands and 1 seen in Scilly waters from the Scillonian III on the morning crossing from Penzance to St. Mary’s.

Great Northern Diver – 2 in St. Mary’s Sound

Common Rosefinch – 1 still in the fields behind the Mainland Marketing shed.

Rose-coloured Starling – 1 still in the Sallyport area and later around Buzza Tower. Also 1 on St, Agnes.

Red-breasted Flycatcher – 1 still in Longstone Cottage Garen 

Red-backed Shrike – A juvenile in Hillside Farm fields, Bryher. 

Melodious Warbler – 1 still at Popplestone Fields, Bryher.

Yellow-browed Warbler – 1 at Troy Town, St. Agnes.

Siberian Chiffchaff – 1 at Troy Town, St. Agnes.

Spotted Crake – 1 seen briefly early morning from the Stephen Sussex hide at Porth Hellick.

Wryneck – 2 between Maypole and Borough Farm, St. Mary’s and 1 on the south side of Samson Hill, Bryher.

Dotterel – 1 still on Shipman Head Down, Bryher.

Pink-footed Goose – 1 still in a field at Normandy.

Pintail – A juvenile still on Lower Moors Pool and a drake on the Great Pool, Tresco

Ruff – 1 still at Porth Hellick.

Common Sandpiper – 1 at Perseil, St. Martin’s

Whimbrel – 1 Taylor’s Island, Porthloo.

Bar-tailed Godwit – 2 Pentle Bay, Tresco.

Mediterranean Gull – 1 on the west side of Peninnis.

Marsh Harrier – A male seen around the middle of St. Mary’s and a juvenile seen over Abbey Pool, Tresco.

Merlin – 12 flew northwest over Pelistry.

Skylark – 2 flew east over the airfield.

Lesser Whitethroat – 1 at New Grimsby, Tresco.

Whinchat – 2 on Peninnis, 2 on Tresco and 1 St. Martin’s

Common Redstart – 1 at Stinky Porth, Bryher

Pied Flycatcher – 1 on the top trail above Holy Vale, 1 in the Garrison pines and 1 on Helvear Down.

Spotted Flycatcher – 1 on St. Martin’s, 1 on Tresco and 1 on Bryher.

Siskin – 16 flew north over Content, 5 in Carreg Dhu Gardens and 2 in off the sea at Watermill.

Minke Whale – 2 on a daytime pelagic trip 16 km northeast of the islands.

Short-beaked Common Dolphin – 80-100 on a daytime pelagic trip 16 km northeast of the islands.

Glossy Ibis – 1 in a polythene covered field along the track between Carreg Dhu Gardens and Parting Carn.

Great White Egret – 1 seen on Teän, Over St. Mary’s and on Tresco.

Little Bunting – 1 on Porth Hellick Bank.

Red-backed Shrike – A juvenile at Redan “C” on the Garrison walls. 

Melodious Warbler – 1 still at Popplestone Fields, Bryher.

Rose-coloured Starling – 1 in the area of Little Porth/Benham Battery, Garrison.

Common Rosefinch – 1 still in the fields behind the Mainland Marketing shed and 1 in the hedge of the last field on Barnaby Lane, St. Agnes.

Cory’s Shearwater – c800 west past Peninnis between 07:30 and 08:40, 20 between Wolf Rock & the Eastern Isles and 2 in 5 minutes of Horse Point, St. Agnes.

Great Shearwater – 25 west past Peninnis between 07:30 and 08:40.

Sooty Shearwater – 17 west past Peninnis between 07:30 and 08:40.

Grey Phalarope – 1 near Maiden Bower, Norrard Rocks.

Dotterel – 1 still on Shipman Head Down, Bryher.

Pink-footed Goose – 1 still in a field at Normandy.

Garganey – 2 on Porth Hellick Pool.

Firecrest – 2 in the Longstone/Carreg Dhu area and behind the Seven Stones Inn, St. Martin’s.

Yellow-browed Warbler – 1 in the sycamore at Troy Town, St. Agnes and 1 near Shooters’ Pool, Lower Moors.

Lesser Whitethroat – 1 on Porth Hellick Loop.

Common Redstart – A male in the first field on Peninnis Farm Trail at the King Edward’s Road end, a male on Chapel Down, St. Martin’s and a Female/immature bird in a garden by Stinking Porth, Bryher.

Black Redstart – 1 on Peninnis Head, 1 at the Old Town end of Lower Moors and 1 on Tresco Cricket Pitch.

Whinchat –2 in fields on King Edward’s Road, Peninnis,1 in the horse paddock near the airfield, 2 on Tresco Cricket Pitch and 1 on St. Martin’s.

Pied Flycatcher – 1 on the top trail above Holy Vale, 1 Carreg Dhu and 1 in the Parsonage Garden, St. Agnes.

Spotted Flycatcher – 1 in the Parsonage Garden, St. Agnes, 1 by St. Nicholas’s Church, Tresco and 1 at Samson Hill, Bryher.

Siskin – 5 on St. Martin’s.

Grey Wagtail – 2 on Porth Hellick Pool and 1 Watermill Lane.

Red-footed Booby – After not been seen since Friday 15th September, much to everyone’s delight it was again sat on the Bishop Rock Lighthouse (photo).

Melodious Warbler – 1 still at Popplestone Fields, Bryher.

Wryneck – 2 between Maypole and Borough Farm, St. Mary’s, 1 on the Garrison walls path near Woolpack Point and 1 on St. Martin’s.

Dotterel – 1 still on Shipman Head Down, Bryher.

Ruff – 1 on Porthloo Beach.

Short-eared-Owl – 1 at Gun Hill, Tresco.

Turtle Dove – 1 in a weedy field below Coastguards Cottage, Tresco.

Firecrest – 2 Carreg Dhu Gardens and 1 trapped, ringed and released at Porth Hellick Ringing Station,

Siberian Chiffchaff – 1 in the Parsonage Garden, St. Agnes.

Yellow-browed Warbler – 1 on Porth Hellick Loop and it or another at Higher Moors pumping station.

Garden Warbler – 1 at Mount Flagon.

Black Redstart – 6 on St. Mary’s, 1 on St. Agnes and 2 on Bryher

Common Redstart. – The male was still in the first field from King Edward’s Rad on the Peninnis Farm Trail, a female was on the rocks at Porthloo, 1 at Porth Killier, St. Agnes and on the path above Bread & Cheese Cove, St. Martin’s.

Whinchat – 2 in fields on King Edward’s Road and 2 on Tresco Cricket Pitch.

Pied Flycatcher – 5 on St. Mary’s, 1 on Tresco and0 1 on St. Agnes.

Spotted Flycatcher – 1 in the Parsonage Garden, St. Agnes.

Siskin – A noticeable small arrival.

Grey Wagtail – 3 on Shooters’ Pool, Lower Moors.

Monday (09/10)

Richard’s Pipit – 2 flew over Maypole, which later were in the fields either side of the track to Carn Vean Tea Rooms and then on the airfield.be before flying towards the Golf Course. 1 flew south out to sea over Castella Down, St. Agnes.

Buff-breasted Sandpiper – 1 still on the eastern side of Wingletang Down, St. Agnes.

Glossy Ibis – 1 still in the polythene covered field along the track between Carreg Dhu Gardens & Parting Carn and was also seen flying over Town Lane in the direction of Maypole.

Great White Egret – 1 still around St. Mary’s.

Rose-coloured Starling – 1 in the Little Porth/Garrison area.

Red-backed Shrike – 1 still by the horse paddock on Bryher.

Red-breasted Flycatcher – 1 in a garden at Trenoweth,

Common Rosefinch – 1 still in the field behind the Mainland Marketing shed north of the perimeter road on the airfield.

Barred Warbler – 1 at the bottom of the Cove Vean Track, St. Agnes.

Wryneck– 2 between Maypole and Borough Farm, St. Mary’s, 1 in the allotments between Porth Minnick and Tolman’s Point and this or another in a garden on Ennor Close, Old Town. 1 by Fraggle Rock, Bryher

Golden Plover – 1 flew southwest over Old Town Churchyard and 1 flew south over Pelistry Farm.

Jack Snipe – 2 on Lower Moors Pool (photo) and 1 flushed from Wingletang Down, St. Agnes.

Common Sandpiper – 1 on St. Martin’s.

Black-tailed Godwit – 1 on the Great Pool, Tresco

Hobby – 1 flew west over Trenoweth.

Raven – 1 over Parting Carn

Ring Ouzel – flew from Giant’s Castle towards Salakee Down.

Fieldfare – the first of the autumn was that flew over Little Arthur Farm, St. Martin’s and another flew over Hell Bay, Bryher.

Black Redstart – 8 on St. Mary’s 

Common Redstart – A male still in a field on King Edward’s road Peninnis, 1 on Porthloo Laneand 1 on the roof of Normandy Farmhouse.

Whinchat –2 still fields on King Edward’s Road, 2 on Bryher and 1 on St. Martin’s.

Pied Flycatcher – 2 on St. Mary’s.

Redpoll – 1 flew over Middle Town, St. Martin’s.

Siskin – Still noticeable numbers.

Grey Wagtail – 1 in the pig field on King Edward’s Road and in a field between Ennor Close, Old town & the airport.

Yellow Wagtail – 1 in a field along the lane to Carn Vean.

Redpoll – 1 on St. Martin’s.
