Saturday (01/07)

Bee-eater – A flock of 12 was in fields at the Old Town End of Lower Moors (photos). This equals the records of 12 birds that were seen on St. Agnes and then on Pungies Lane, St. Mary’s on 27th May 2010 and the 12 on St. Agnes in early June 2015.

Sunday (02/07)

Bee-eater – Various counts in the Lower Moors area, before 12 were finally seen.

Common Swift – 1 over Rosehill.

Cetti’s – 1 calling at Rosehill Gardens.

Monday (03/07)

Bee-eater – Still 12 at present in the Lower Moors area.

Wilson’s Storm-petrel – 18 on the evening pelagic trip 8 miles southeast of St. Mary’s (photo). This is a fantastic count for any time of the year but is amazing for this early in the pelagic season.

European Storm-petrel – 200+ on the evening pelagic trip 8 miles southeast of St. Mary’s.

Cory’s Shearwater – 1 (the first of the year) on the evening pelagic trip 8 miles southeast of St.Mary’s (photo).

Great Shearwater – 2 on the evening pelagic trip 8 miles southeast of St. Mary’s (photo).

Sooty Shearwater – 6 on the evening pelagic trip 8 miles southeast of St. Mary’s.

Sabine’s Gull – 4 (2 adults and 2 first-summers) on the evening pelagic trip 8 miles southeast of St. Mary’s (photo).

Arctic Skua – 1 on the evening pelagic trip 8 miles southeast of St. Mary’s (photo).

Black-tailed Godwit – 1 flew over the Abbey Pool, Tresco.

Common Dolphin – 6 on the evening pelagic trip 8 miles southeast of St. Mary’s

Tuesday (04/07) 

Short-eared Owl – 1 on Teän.

Common Swift – 2 over Porth Hellick Pool.

Wednesday (05/07)

Bee-eater –12 again in the Lower Moors/Sunnyside area.

Mediterranean Gull – An adult at Crabs Ledge.

Thursday (06/07)

Bee-eater – Still 12 in the Lower Moors area.

Wilson’s Storm-petrel – 3 on the evening pelagic trip 11 miles northeast of St. Mary’s.

European Storm-petrel – 80 on the evening pelagic trip 11 miles northeast of St. Mary’s.

Mediterranean Gull –15 in Tresco Channel.

Friday (07/07)

Common Swift – 1 flew past the church in Hugh Town, and 4 were over Lower Town, St. Martin’s.
