Tuesday (14/02) 

Cattle Egret – 5 at Trewince and 1 at Carn Friars.

Little Egret –1 Tresco.

Common Buzzard – 1 over Gugh and it or another by Higher Town Quay, St. Martin’s.

Pink-footed Goose – 10 Tresco.

Shoveler – 7 Tresco.

Pintail – 2 Tresco.

Pochard – 6 Tresco.

Common Scoter – 2 in Pelistry.

Lapwing – 3 in fields below Castle Down, Tresco.

Yellow-legged Gull – A 2nd-winter bird on Tresco.

Mistle Thrush – 1 in field near Pentle House, Tresco, this is a scarce bird on Scilly.

Humpback Whale – 2 off Giant’s Castle.

Wednesday (15/02)

Richard’s Pipit – 1 showing very well by the terminal building on the Airfield.

Cattle Egret – Just 1 at Parting Carn.

Thursday (16/02)

Richard’s Pipit – 1 still showing very well by the terminal building on the Airfield.

Glaucous Gull – 1 at Porth Hellick Bay.

Lapwing – 2 in a field above New Grimsby.

Water Rail – 1 near the pool on St. Agnes.

Merlin – 1 flew through Higher Moors.

Redwing – 12 in fields at Salakee.

Fieldfare – 1 in fields at Salakee.

Grey Wagtail – 1 on the cricket pitch on St. Agnes.

Friday (17/02)

Cattle Egret – 5 at Trewince.

Common Gull – 1 at Pendrathen.

Cetti’s Warbler – 1briefly in song between the 2 hides in Lower Moors.

Black Redstart – 1 at Porthloo.

Saturday (18/02)

Long-tailed Skua – 1 by the burial chamber at Deep Point flew off towards Salakee Down.

Richard’s Pipit – 1 still by the terminal building on the Airfield.

Cattle Egret – 4 at Trewince.

Yellow-legged Gull – 1 on rocks in Porth Cressa.

Mediterranean Gull – 7 on rocks in Porth Cressa and 1 at Shark’s Pit.

Common Gull – 1 in fields on King Edward’s Road, Peninnis and 1 at Shark’s Pit.

Merlin – 1 below Carn Vean Tea rooms St. Mary’s (photo)

Jackdaw – 1 flew northwest over the Golf Course, this is an uncommon bird on Scilly.

Black Redstart –2 at Porthloo.

Pintail – A drake on Porth Hellick Pool (photo).

Woodcock – 16 at the Pump Road site in the evening.

Jack Snipe – 1 at the Pump Road site in the evening.

Firecrest – 1 in Carreg Dhu Gardens.
