Wryneck – 1 at Porthloo Boat Park, 2 at Green Farm, 1 by the Great Pool, Tresco, 1 Cromwell’s Castle, Tresco, 1 at Borough Farm, Tresco and 1 at Gimble Porth, Tresco.

Hen Harrier – A male flew east over the Daymark, St. Martin’s.

Hobby – 1 flew in off the sea at Giant’s Castle.

Water Rail – 1 trapped & ringed at Porth Hellick Ringing Station.

Tufted Duck – 1 on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Golden Plover – 1 on the airfield.

Grey Plover – 1 on Teän.

Curlew Sandpiper – 1 on Bathing House Beach, Tresco.

Wood Sandpiper – 1 seen from the David hunt Hide on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Green Sandpiper – 1 seen from the David hunt Hide on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Black-tailed Godwit – 5 on the south end of the Great Pool and 4 on Abbey Pool, Tresco.

Bar-tailed Godwit – 3 on Teän.

Whimbrel – 1 Giant’s Castle and 3 on the rocks near Toll’s Island, Pelistry.

Kingfisher – 2 Porth Hellick Pool, 1 Old Town and 1 by the Coastguard Café, St. Agnes.

Great Spotted Woodpecker – 1 calling in the pines near Innisidgen.

Common Whitethroat – 1 trapped & ringed at Porth Hellick Ringing Station.

Garden Warbler – 1 trapped & ringed at Porth Hellick Ringing Station.

Whinchat – 2 at Borough Farm, Tresco, 3 on St.Agnes, 1 on Gugh*h and 1 behind the Seven Stones Inn on St. Martin’s.

Pied Flycatcher – 2 at Helvear, 1 at the bottom of Rocky Hill, 1 trapped & ringed at Porth Hellick Ringing Station, 1 Lower Moors, 1 Kittydown, 1 at Borough Farm, Tresco, 1 by the cricket pitch on St. Martin’s and 1 on St. Agnes.

Spotted Flycatcher – 3 on the airfield, 2 Holy Vale, 1 in the Chaplaincy garden, 1 at Helvear, 1 behind the Seven Stones Inn on St. Martin’s, 1 on Gugh and 3 on St. Agnes.

White Wagtail – 10 in pastures along Sandy Lane.

Yellow Wagtail – 4 flew north over Gugh.

Grey Wagtail – 1 flew southwest over Porthloo.

Siskin – The first report of the autumn was 1 on Kittydown.

Monday (19/09)

Short-toed Lark – 1 still on the airfield.

Icterine Warbler – 1 n a hedgerow on King Edward’s Road, Peninnis.

Common Rosefinch – A juvenile along the coastal path between Church Quay and Aneka’s Quay, Bryher

Spotted Crake – 1 on Porth Hellick Pool.

Wryneck – 1 still at Porthloo Boat Park, 1 near Veronica Farm, Bryher, and 1 by the cricket field on St. Martin’s.

Brambling – 1 at Churchtown Farm, St. Martin’s was the first of the autumn and an early record.

Golden Plover – 1 on Porth Hellick Down,

Jack Snipe – The first of the autumn was 1 on Porth Hellick Pool (photo).

Ruff – 1 on Porth Hellick Pool.

Whimbrel – 6 flew east over Porth Hellick Down.

Grey Phalarope – 1 in Scillonian waters seen from the Scillonian III on the morning crossing from Penzance to St. Mary’s.

Little Egret – 3 at Porth Hellick.

Arctic Skua – 2 in Scillonian waters seen from the Scillonian III on the morning crossing from Penzance to St. Mary’s.

Cetti’s Warbler – 1 trapped & ringed at Porth Hellick Ringing Station.

Redwing – 1 at the riding Stables was another early autumn arrival.

Nightingale – 1 in a field on King Edward’s Road, Peninnis.

Whinchat – 3 on Bryher.

Redstart –1 at Green Farm.

Pied Flycatcher – 1 by the cricket field on St. Martin’s and 1 in a garden behind the Star Castle Hotel on the Garrison.

Spotted Flycatcher – 1 at Green Farm, 3 on Bryher and 1 by the cricket field on St. Martin’s.

Grey Wagtail – 1 on the Garrison, 1 flew over the Airfield and 1 on St. Martin’s.

Wryneck – 1 still at Porthloo Boat Park (photo), 1 Peninnis, 1 by the Airfield turning circle, 1 by Cromwell’s Castle, Tresco, 1 Gweal Hill, Bryher and 1 near the reading room on St. Martin’s.

Pied Flycatcher – 1 Carreg Dhu Gardens, ! lower Moors, 1 Rosehill and 1 trapped and ringed at Porth Hellick Ringing Station.

Spotted Flycatcher – 3 by St. Nicholas’s Church, Tresco.

Tree Pipit – 4 at Trenoweth, 2 Peninnis, 2 Carn Friars,1 Porth Hellick and 1 flew over Abbey Pool, Tresco.

Grey Wagtail – 1 Standing Stones Field, Lower Moors.
