Mediterranean Gull – 1 off Peninnis Head.

Merlin – 1 around the vineyard on St. Martin’s.

Raven – 2 St. Martin’s0

Black Redstart – 1 Porthloo.

Thursday (27/01)

Cattle Egret – Still 3 with cattle at Parting Carn.

Pintail – The drake was still on Porth Hellick Pool.

Lapwing – 1 flew low over Porth Hellick Bay.

Black Redstart – 1in the carpark in front of Tregarthen’s Hotel.

Surf Scoter – The 1st-winter female was still near Skirt Island, Tresco.

Brent Goose – 1 off Bar Point.

Shelduck – 2 on St. Agnes.

Merlin – An adult male on St. Agnes.

Kingfisher – 1 on St. Agnes.

Black Redstart – 1 on the rocky beach below the Mermaid carpark and 1 Porthloo.

Grey Wagtail – 1 on the rocky beach below the Mermaid carpark.

Saturday (29/01)

Lesser Scaup – 1 still on Abbey Pool, Tresco.

Glossy Ibis – 1 flew over Pool Road, Tresco.

Cattle Egret – 3 at Rowesfield, Tresco.

Pink-footed Goose – 5 in the fields above New Grimsby, Tresco.

Greylag Goose – 1 in the fields above New Grimsby, Tresco.

Shoveler – 5 on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Pintail – 3 on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Wigeon – 3 on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Merlin – 1 flew north from Peninnis.

Siberian Chiffchaff – 3 on Pool Toad Tresco and 1at Lower Town Farm, St. Agnes.

Redwing – 6 in Lower Moors.

Purple Sandpiper – 10 a rock between Carn Leh and Peninnis.

Redwing – 7 at Cove Vean, St. Agnes and 1 on Gugh.

Golden Plover – 1 on Peninnis Head northwest off the lighthouse.

Purple Sandpiper – 1 on a rocky islet at the mouth of Old Town Bay.

Mediterranean Gull – A 2nd– winter bird at Porthloo.

Merlin – 1 flew through Lower Moors and this or another was seen later over Porthloo.

Raven – 2 around the Periglis area on St. Agnes.

Grey Wagtail – 1 on Lower Moors Pool.

Spoonbill – 3 on Samson Flats and another roosting on ledges off Bathinghouse Beach, Tresco.

Black-throated Diver – An adulty bird off the Blockhouse, Tresco.

Pale-bellied Brent Goose – 1 on Tresco.

Pink-footed Goose – 5 on Tresco.

Greylag Goose – 1 on Tresco.

Shoveler – 5 on Tresco.

Pochard – 8 on Tresco.

Eider – 1 Tresco

Golden Plover – 1 still in a field on the west side of Peninnis.

Jack Snipe – 1 still on Lower Moors Pool.

Long-eared Owl – What was probably this species was heard in the evening at Borough Farm, St. Mary’s.

Whimbrel – 7 on Toll’s Island.

Sparrowhawk – 1 flew north over Ram’s Valley and at Porth Hellick Loop.

Humpback Whale – 1 seen from St. Mary’s, between the wave buoy and St. Agnes.
