Woodchat Shrike – A first-winter male in the fields behind Peacehaven.

Wryneck – 1 on the road at Parting Carn, 1 in the Airport Fields above Ennor Close, Old Town, 1 still in the Carn Friars Farm maze orchard, 1 on the track by the large pines behind Peacehaven and 1 at the woodpile above Pentle Bay, Tresco.

Marsh Harrier – 1 over the Great Pool, Tresco.

Shoveler – 4 on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Dotterel – 1 still on Castle Down, Tresco.

Golden Plover – 11 on Castle Down, Tresco.

Common Sandpiper – 1 Porth Hellick Pool, 2 on Lingy Beach below the golf course and 1 on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Great Skua – 3 on the evening sharking/birding pelagic trip 3 miles southwest of Bishop Rock.

Arctic Skua – A dark morph adult on the evening sharking/birding pelagic trip 3 miles southwest of Bishop Rock (photo).

European Storm-petrel – 10 on the evening sharking/birding pelagic trip 3 miles southwest of Bishop Rock.

Water Rail – 1 Porth Hellick Pool.

Swift – 1 over Lingy Beach.

Garden Warbler – 1 in the pines behind the Cadet Hut on the Garrison.

Spotted Flycatcher – 10 in the Maypole area, 4 Carn Friars Farm, 3 on the Garrison and 1 on Porth Hellick bank.

Pied Flycatcher – 2 in the pines behind the Cadet Hut on the Garrison, 1 by the road at the entrance to Higher Moors, 1Carn Friars Farm, 7 in the Maypole area, 1 in a garden on Church Street, Hugh Town and 1 above Gimble Porth, Tresco.

Redstart – 1 by the Cadet Hut on the Garrison, 1 in the Maypole area and 1 Carn Friars Farm.

Whinchat – 4 Carn Friars Farm, 1 in the Standing Stones Field, Lower Moors,1 in the Maypole area and 1 Gimble Porth, Tresco.

Tree Pipit – 1 above Gimble Porth, Tresco, 2 in the Maypole area.

Yellow Wagtail – 14 in a cattle field between Back Lane and Gimble Porth, Tresco. 1 landed on the MV Sapphire on the evening sharking/birding pelagic trip 3 miles southwest of Bishop Rock.

Short-beaked Common Dolphin – 30 on the evening sharking/birding pelagic trip 3 miles southwest of Bishop Rock.

Blue Shark – 3 caught, tagged and released on the evening sharking/birding pelagic trip 3 miles southwest of Bishop Rock.

Porbeagle Shark – 1 caught, tagged and released on the evening sharking/birding pelagic trip 3 miles southwest of Bishop Rock.

Atlantic Bluefin Tuna – 20 on the evening sharking/birding pelagic trip 3 miles southwest of Bishop Rock.

Ocean Sunfish – 1 on the evening sharking/birding pelagic trip 3 miles southwest of Bishop Rock.

Tuesday (07/09)

Western Bonelli’s Warbler – 1 still on the Garrison in the pines behind the Cadet Hut.

Avocet – 1 was found in the evening roosting with Ringed Plovers on Lawrance’s Bay, Tresco. This a very scarce bird on Scilly.

Woodchat Shrike – 1 still in the fields between Peacehaven and Helvear. This bird shows features of the Balearic subspecies.

Red-backed Shrike – 1 in the hedge of the cow field at the junction of Telegraph Road and Longstone Lane.

Wryneck – 1 still on Carn Friars Farm, 1 on the drystone wall by the road below Porth Hellick House and 1 still in the Airport fields above Ennor Close.

Turtle Dove – 1 at Normandy with a Collared Dove flock in a field 200 yards along the road from “The Moos”.

Swift – 1 over Longstone Café.

Whitethroat – 1 St. Martin’s.

Spotted Flycatcher – 1 Carn Friars and 15 St. Martin’s.

Pied Flycatcher – 2 near Peacehaven, 1 on the Garrison behind the Cadet Hut and 4 St. Martin’s.

Redstart – 1 St. Martin’s.

Whinchat – 4 on the perimeter fence posts along the road between the Airport Terminal and Fire Station, 1 0n Carn Friars Farm, 1 below the Health Centre and 1 St. Martin’s

Tree Pipit – 1 above Gimble Porth, Tresco, 2 in the Maypole area.

Yellow Wagtail – 1 St. Martin’s.
