Bluethroat – 1 still at Porth Hellick on the mud opposite the Seaward Hide, a second bird was seen briefly on the mud in the northeast corner of the pool.

Wryneck – 1 still on Carn Friars Farm in the maze orchard,2 on the west side of Peninnis, 1 on the track from New Grimsby to Castle Down, Tresco and 1 on St. Agnes in a field along the track from the church to the campsite.

Marsh Harrier – a juvenile flew over Maypole.

Dotterel – 1 on Castle Down, Tresco.

Ruff – 1 still on Porth Hellick Pool.

Common Sandpiper – 1 on Porth Hellick Pool.

Little Egret – 1 on Porth Hellick Pool.

Mediterranean Gull – 2 Porth Cressa.

Swift – 1 flew over the Garrison towards Hugh Town.

Spotted Flycatcher – 3 Carn Friars Farm.

Pied Flycatcher – 1 at St. Martins Vineyard and 1 on the track from New Grimsby to Castle Down, Tresco.

Whinchat – 1 Carn Friars Farm.

Yellow Wagtail – 1 on the Garrison Football Pitch.

Fin Whale – 1 seen west of Wolf Rock from the Scillonian III.

Saturday (04/09)

Western Bonelli’s Warbler – 1 doing as circuit around the pines behind the Cadet Hut/Shooting Club/football changing rooms (photo).

Black Tern – 1 with a flock of Sandwich Terns over the ledges to thew south of Middle Town/Lower Town, St. Martin’s. This a scarce bird on Scilly.

Wryneck – 1 on the western side of Peninnis, 1 on the road near the hangars at the airport, 1 still on Tresco and 1 near the Coastguards Cottages on St. Agnes.

Golden Plover – 7 on Castle Down, Tresco.

Knot – 2 on the beach near Middle Town, St. Martin’s.

Sparrowhawk – 2 over Holy Vale Vineyard.

Mediterranean Gull – 1 Porth Cressa.

Whitethroat – 1 in the Garrison Pines.

Spotted Flycatcher – 1 in the Garrison Pines and 2 in the pines at Town Hill, Tresco.

Pied Flycatcher – 1 in the Garrison Pines, 4 in the pines at Town Hill, Tresco and 4 on St. Agnes.

Whinchat – 4 near the Airport terminal building and 1 on the western side of Peninnis.

Tree Pipit – 2 on the Garrison.

Yellow Wagtail – 4 in a cattle field on Peninnis and 1 on the Garrison.

Sunday (05/09)

Western Bonelli’s Warbler – 1 still in the pines behind the Shooting.

Ortolan Bunting – 1 on the path by the Steval on the Garrison.

Red-breasted Flycatcher – 1 by the cricket nets on St. Martin’s, this is one of the earliest autumn records on Scilly (photo).

Common Rosefinch – A juvenile east of the pitch and putt, Bryher.

Wryneck – 8 on St. Mary’s, 3 on the western side of Peninnis, 2 on the Garrison, 1 on the path into Old Town Church, 1 on Carn Friars Farm and 1 in a garden on Church Road, Hugh Town. Also 4 on St. Agnes.

Dotterel – 1 still on Castle Down, Tresco.

Little Stint – A juvenile on Bryher Pool.

Golden Plover – 1 calling over Hugh Town.

Knot – 3 on Par Beach Middle Town, St. Martin’s.

Dunlin – 51 on Bryher Pool

Whimbrel – 3 at Pendrathen.

Black Tern – 1 on Broad Ledge off Lower Town, St. Martin’s.

Mediterranean Gull – a juvenile at Porth Cressa.

Raven – 2 flew east over Peninnis.

Whitethroat – 6 on the western side of Peninnis.

Garden Warbler – 1 on Bryher.

Spotted Flycatcher – 3 on the western side of Peninnis, 12 on Bryher and 3 on St. Martin’s.

Pied Flycatcher – 4 in the Garrison Pines, 6 on St. Martin’s, 6 on Bryher and 5 on St. Agnes.

Whinchat – 1 along King Edward’s Road, Peninnis, 12 on St. Agnes, 11 on Bryher and 1 on St. Martin’s.

Redstart – 3 on St. Martin’s and 4 on St. Agnes.

Tree Pipit – 6 flew east over Old Town Church and 4 in the Garrison Pines.

Yellow Wagtail – 14 on St. Agnes and 2 on St. Martin’s.

Grey Wagtail – 1 flew east over Old Town Church.
