Sooty Shearwater – 1 on the evening pelagic trip.

European Storm-petrel – 1 on the evening pelagic trip.

Dark-bellied Brent Goose – The unseasonal bird was in Bathinghouse Porth, Tresco.

Pochard – 5 on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Green Sandpiper – 1 flew over Abbey Pool, Tresco.

Mediterranean Gull – 2 Porth Cressa.

Common Gull – 1 Deep Point.

Swift – 7 over New Grimsby, Tresco and 1 Deep Point. 

Spotted Flycatcher – 1 (an early retuning bird?) in vine Farm fields, Bryher.

Wally the walrus was on St. Martin’s Flats. And back on his pontoon in Hugh Town Harbour in the evening.

Short-beaked Common Dolphin – 150+ on the evening pelagic trip.

Tuesday (20/07)

Rose-coloured Starling – 1 in The Chaplaincy Garden on Church Street. And then in the New Zealand Flame Tree on Back Lane behind St. Mary’s Hall.

Iceland Gull – 1 Great Bay, St. Martin’s.

Pochard – 5 on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Green Greenshank – 5 on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Knot – 3 Tresco.

Sanderling – 112 Tresco, 2 Great Bay, St. Martin’s.

Dunlin – 11 Tresco.

Whimbrel – 8 Tresco.

Common Sandpiper – 9 Tresco.

Mediterranean Gull – 12 over Hugh Town, 4 Tresco Channel, 1 by North Bartholomew Buoy and 2 Great Bay, St. Martin’s.

Yellow-legged Gull – 2 Tresco.

Swift – 6 over New Grimsby, Tresco and 2 flying round the C of E church on Church Road.

Wally the walrus was still on a pontoon in Hugh Town Harbour.

Wednesday (21/07)

Rose-coloured Starling – 1 still in the New Zealand Flame Tree on Back Lane behind St. Mary’s Hall and also in the Flame Tree in Banksea Close.

Eider – 1 still near Guther’s Island (photo).

Whimbrel – 1 flew over the airport.

Common Sandpiper – 1 Porth Hellick.

Iceland Gull – 1 still in a field at Telegraph.

Swift – 6 over Hugh Town.

Wally the walrus was by Craggy Ellis east of Tresco.

Thursday (22/07)

Rose-coloured Starling – 1 still in the New Zealand Flame Tree in Banksea Close.#

Green Sandpiper – 2 Porth Hellick Pool.

Mediterranean Gull – 2 Porthloo.

Swift – 2 over Holy Vale.

Wally the walrus was by Craggy Ellis and Crow Beacon east of Tresco.

Friday (23/07

Eider – 1 St. Martin’s Flats.

Hobby – 1 Tresco.

Cuckoo – A juvenile on St. Martin’s.

Wally the walrus was still by Craggy Ellis.

Saturday (24/07)

Mediterranean Gull – 12+ Plumb Island.

Yellow-legged Gull –A juvenile on Tresco.

Grey Heron – 21 on Tresco.

Little Egret – 4 on Tresco.

Common Sandpiper – 2 on St. Agnes. 

Dunlin – 21 on Tresco.

Sanderling – 300 on Tresco.

Knot – 1 on Tresco.

Bar-tailed Godwit – 1 on Tresco.

Whimbrel – 6 on Tresco.

Mistle Thrush – 1 at Bishop’s View.

Wally the walrus was back on his pontoon in Hugh Town Harbour.

Sunday (25/07)

European Storm-petrel – 6 trapped and ringed overnight at Porth Wreck and another British-ringed control.

Hobby – 1 Tresco. 

Pochard – 5 on the Great Pool, Tresco

Eider – 1 still near Guther’s Island. 

Yellow-legged Gull – 4 Tresco. 

Sandwich Tern – 21 at Porth Cressa.

Swift – 2 over the church in Hugh 

Siskin – 3 Pungies Lane.

Wally the walrus was between Crow and Craggy Ellis and later returned to his pontoon in the harbour.
