Golden Oriole – 1 moved south through Holy Vale at 06:35

Quail – 1 flushed from the lower path by the reeds behind Porth Hellick bank flew towards Carn Friars

Marsh Harrier – A female flew from Tresco to St. Mary’s and was seen at Porth Hellick.

Iceland Gull – 1 Porthloo Beach , 1 Gleaner Beach, Tresco, 1 in the garden behind Star Castle

Shelduck –  A pair with 6 ducklings on Tresco

Shoveler –  1 on Abbey Pool, Tresco

Lesser Redpoll – 1 flew north over the Star Castle

Tuesday (02/06)

LITTLE SWIFT – 1 was seen in the late evening over Porth Hellick (photo)but only stayed briefly and headed off towards Longstone with a small group of Swallows. This is the third record for Scilly, the previous two were both one day birds, both on St. Mary’s, 1 on 17th May 2002 and 1 on 28th April 2003.

Turtle Dove – 1 at Green Farm

Iceland Gull – 1 on the golf course, 1 in the garden behind Star Castle

Hobby – 1 over Peninnis also seen over the Garrison

Siskin – A male at Porth Hellick

Night Heron – 1 at Porth Hellick at 04:30!and seen again on Porth Hellick Pool in the evening (photo)

Rose-coloured Starling – 1 in the elms at Porthloo Duck Pond

Golden Oriole – A first-summer male flew north over Porthloo Duck Pond

Iceland Gull – 1 Porth Hellick Pool and 1 in the Garden behind Star Castle

Siskin – A female at Bar Point
