Saturday (22/05)

Cattle Egret –  1 Tresco

Hen Harrier – A male harrier, thought to be this species seen between the Daymark and Great Bay, St. Martin’s

Swift – 2 Gugh, 1 Peninnis

Cuckoo – 1 in flight near St. Agnes Lighthouse

Great Northern Diver – 1 flew over Gugh

Ringed Plover – The  nesting  pair were seen with 4 tiny chicks

Golden Plover – A summer plumage bird on the airfield, 1 St. Agnes

Whimbrel – 6 Tresco, 2 Eastern Isles, 1 Periglis, St. Agnes

Bar-tailed Godwit – 1 Periglis, St. Agnes

Iceland Gull – 1 Morning Point and over Hugh Town Harbour also seen in Porth Cressa, 1 Great Bay, St. Martin’s

Jackdaw – 2 near Churchtown Farm, St. Martin’s

Cetti’s Warbler – 1 Lower Moors

Yellow Wagtail – A male still at Porth Hellick

Sunday (23/05)

Little Egret – 1 Tresco Channel

Whimbrel – 1 flew over the campsite

Iceland Gull – 1 still in the garden behind Star Castle, also seen in Porth Cressa

Monday (24/05)

Western Subalpine Warbler – 1 showing very occasionally at Higher Moors in the quarry by the road (photo)

Cattle Egret – 1 flew over Middle Down, Tresco

Marsh Harrier – 1 over the Great Pool, Tresco and the over Porth Hellick Pumping Station

Wigeon –  1 Great Pool, Tresco

Tufted Duck – 2 Great Pool, Tresco

Pochard –  Another brood on the Abbey Pool, Tresco

Turtle Dove – 1 Tresco

Iceland Gull – 1 Great Bay, St. Martin’s, 2 or possibly 3 birds in the garden behind Star Castle, 1 on rocks in Porth Cressa Bay

Garden Warbler – 1 in the Standing Stones Field

Marsh Harrier – 1 over the Great Pool, Tresco

Swift – 1 Porth Hellick

Iceland Gull – 2 on Taylor’s Island, Porthloo

Wednesday (26/05)

Wigeon – 2 drakes on the Great Pool, Tresco 

Tufted Duck – A female on the Great Pool, Tresco 

Great Northern Diver – 1 of the Steval, Garrison

Whimbrel – 1 Appletree Bay, Tresco

Iceland Gull – 1 Crabs Ledge, Tresco, 1 in the pig field behind the Star Castle, 1 over content and 1 on St. Martin’s

Cetti’s Warbler – 1 near the water treatment works at the Old Town end of Lower Mors

Yellow Wagtail –  1 in fields south of Tresco church

Thursday (27/05)

Alpine Swift – 1 flew over Star Castle towards Peninnis but could not be relocated.

Golden Oriole –  1 Holy Vale before flying to Sandy Lane and 1 near Middle Town, St. Martin’s

Tufted Duck –1 Abbey Pool

Pochard – 1 Abbey Pool

Great Northern Diver – 5 off Annet

Swift – 9 over St. Martin’s, 1 Bryher

Whimbrel – 3 St. Martin’s

Common Sandpiper – 1 Higher Town Beach, St. Agnes

Iceland Gull – At least 2 on St. Mary’s and one of these or a third bird at Point Seal, St. Martin’s

Spotted Flycatcher – 5 St. Martin’s, 1 St. Agnes, 3 Bryher

Yellow Wagtail – 1 Bryher
