A wet and misty day with most birders leaving the islands on the last Scillonian crossing of the year because Saturday’s sailing was cancelled due to predicted bad weather. Consequently reports were greatly reduced.

Lesser Yellowlegs – 1 still on Abbey Pool, Tresco

Dusky Warbler – 1 still between Porthloo and Porth Thomas in hedge behind the boatsheds and 1 on Barnaby Lane, St. Agnes 

Cattle Egret – 8 on St. Agnes and another 8 on Bryher moving to Tresco. 16 in Total?

Glossy Ibis – 1 still in a field with cows at Green Lane 

Little  Bunting – 1 still in a field just north of Old Grimsby, Tresco

Dartford Warbler –  1 showed briefly behind the cricket pitch on St. Agnes

Greylag Goose  – 1 in the field opposite the lane to Carn Vean Café

White-fronted Goose – 1 in the field opposite the lane to Carn Vean Café 

Shelduck – 3 on the Great Pool, Tresco at dusk

Great Northern Diver – 1 Porth Cressa          

Jack Snipe – 1 on Lower Moors Pool

Mediterranean Gull – 1 Porth Cressa

Iceland Gull – 1 on Abbey Pool, Tresco

Great Skua – 2 from the last St. Mary’s to Penzance Scillonian III crossing of the year. They were seen between Scilly and the Wolf Lighthouse i.e. in the Scilly recording area.

Red-backed Shrike – 1 Still behind Longstone Lodge

Hooded Crow – 1 still on Tresco

Yellow-browed Warbler –  4 St. Mary’s, 2 Tresco and 1 St. Martin’

Whitethroat – 1 still at the back of Pelistry Beach

Firecrest –   1 Rocky Hills, 1 north side of the Great Pool, Tresco

Yellow Wagtail – 2 Pelistry Riding Stables
