Little Bittern – A bird though to be this species flew across Old Town Bay, Least Bittern was not ruled out. Unfortunately, despite searches of all likely pools it could not be relocated.

Pectoral Sandpiper – 1 flew in and landed on Porth Hellick Pool

Brent Goose  – 6 in Tresco Channel, 1 on the sea off Lower Town, St. Martin’s

Pink-footed Goose – 6 still at Four Lanes, 4 on Abbey Pool, Tresco

Wigeon – 2 Porth Hellick

Great Northern Diver – 3 still off Pelistry

Little Egret – 1 Old Town Bay

Sparrowhawk – 2 over Four Lanes

Golden Plover – 2 Castle Down, Tresco

American Golden Plover – 1 Castle Down, Tresco, t or another flew over Gimble Porth

Bar-tailed Godwit – 1 roosting on Taylor’s Island, Porthloo

Whimbrel – 4 Toll’s Island, 1 St. Martin’s       

Jack Snipe – 2 on Porth Hellick Pool

Common Sandpiper – 1 Watermill Cove, 1 Old Town Bay

Mediterranean Gull – 1 Porthcressa

Kingfisher – 1 Old Town Bay

Wryneck –  1 on Gugh, 1 on Wingletang, St. Agnes, 1 near Anneka’s Quay, Bryher 

Great Spotted Woodpecker 

Merlin – 1 over the junction of Telegraph Road and the top end of Porthloo Lane, 1 Peninnis, 1 Toll’s Island, 1 over Porth Cressa towards the Garrison, 1 east over Old Town Bay, 1 Gimble Porth Tresco

Red-backed Shrike – 1 still behind Longstone Lodge

Yellow-browed Warbler – 1 Watermill, 1 still Lower Broome, Garrison, 1 near the Stephen Sussex hide, Porth Hellick,1 Higher Moors Pumping Station,  1 Newford Duck Pond,1 still behind the Cricket Pitch, St. Martin’s, 1 seven Stones, St. Martins’

Garden Warbler – 1 in the fields behind Old Town Bay

Ring Ouzel – 1 on the west side of Peninnis Head

Spotted Flycatcher – 1 Holy Vale, 1 Middle Town, St. Martin’s 

Pied Flycatcher – 2 Holy Vale

Red-breasted Flycatcher – 1 in Holy Vale

Whinchat – 1 at the junction of Telegraph Road and the top end of Porthloo Lane, 1 St. Agnes

Common Rosefinch – 1 Deep Point Quarry

Lesser Redpoll – 1 Little Arthur Farm, St. Martin’s 

Crossbill – 3 Trenoweth Pines, 9 in the pines near the Stephen Sussex Hide, Porth Hellick

Siskin – 2 Carreg Dhu Gardens, 9 in Lawrence’s Bay fields, St. Martin’s

Lapland  Bunting – 1 Castle Down, Tresco, 1 Piper’s hole Tresco

Snow Bunting – 1 near the lighthouse on Peninnis (photo), 1 on the beach west of the Heliport, Tresco
