Sunday’s birds were:
St. Mary’s – The juvenile Glaucous Gull was still on Porthlow Beach and the 2 Greenland White-fronted Geese were still at Porth Hellick. A morning’s sea watching from Giant’s Castle produced 3 Balearic Shearwaters, a juvenile Iceland Gull and a Blue Fulmar.
Monday’s birds were:
St. Mary’s – The juvenile Glaucous Gull was still on Porthlow Beach, 5 Balearic Shearwaters flew past Peninnis Head and the juvenile Rose-coloured Starling was still in the allotments opposite the incinerator. The very elusive Serin was seen again briefly in the field at the bottom of Rocky Hills. This only the fourth time it has been seen in the last 6 weeks, where is it disappearing to?
Tuesday’s birds were:
St. Mary’s – The juvenile Glaucous Gull was still on Porthlow Beach and the juvenile Rose-coloured Starling was still in the allotments opposite the incinerator.
Wednesday’s birds were:
St. Mary’s – The juvenile Glaucous Gull was on Newford Island, Porthlow, the juvenile Rose-coloured Starling was still in the allotments opposite the incinerator, the 2 Greenland White-fronted Geese were in a field on Salakee Farm and a Firecrest was in a flower field behind Carreg Dhu Gardens. 5 Balearic Shearwaters and 12 Great Northern Divers were seen from Innisidgen and a Balearic Shearwater, a Long-tailed Duck, 8 Common Scoters and 12 Great Northern Divers were seen off MacFarland’s Down.
