St. Mary’s – A Whimbrel over Holy Vale and an adult Mediterranean Gull on Porthloo beach.

Tresco – 6 Redshank, a Common Snipe, 3 Tufted Duck and 10 Grey Heron.

Despite the fog the birders on the daytime pelagic trip managed to see a Wilson’s Storm-petrel.

A Basking Shark was seen near Annet.

St. Mary’s – A Green Sandpiper and a Hobby at the dump. A Balearic Shearwater and 15 Sandwich Tern in The Roads.

Tresco – A Mediterranean Gull.

Samson – 5 Whimbrel and 11 Common Tern.

Teän - 2 Whimbrel and 60 Curlew.

The evening pelagic was very quiet on the avian front, producing only 6 European Storm-petrel. Fish enthusiasts were catered the sighting of an Ocean Sunfish and two Blue Sharks being caught, tagged and released,

St. Mary’s – A Balearic Shearwater off the Garrison and a Green Sandpiper on a pool behind the municipal dump.

Samson – The Spoonbill and Marsh Harrier were still present.

Bryher - 4 Dunlin, 12 Ringed Plover, a Whimbrel, 2 Little Egret, 6 Common Tern and 10 Sandwich Tern.

St. Mary’s – Common Sandpiper by the quay.

Tresco – The first Little Egret of the ‘autumn’.

Samson – The Spoonbill and the Marsh Harrier still present.

A daytime pelagic logged a Balearic Shearwater, a Sooty Shearwater, a Great Skua and 20 European Storm-petrel. Also seen were a Minke Whale and a Basking Shark.

St. Mary’s – 4 Green Sandpiper on the pool behind the dump. A Turnstone & a Common Sandpiper by the Quay. At Porth Hellick there were 2 Common Sandpiper, a Kingfisher and 2 Swift.

Annet – 5 Turnstone.

Samson – The Spoonbill still present.

The evening pelagic trip produced a Wilson’s Storm-petrel, 2 Sooty Shearwater, 30 Manx Shearwater, 35 European Storm-petrel and an Arctic Skua.

St. Mary’s – A Garden Warbler in Lower Moors, and a Kingfisher, a Common Sandpiper & 2 Greenshank at Porth Hellick Pool.

Samson - A Spoonbill

St. Mary’s – A Kingfisher, a Tufted Duck, a Swift, 4 Greenshank and 4 Common Sandpipers at Porth Hellick. A juvenile Mediterranean Gull at Porthloo and a Common Sandpiper by the quay.

Tresco - A Common Buzzard.

Samson – A Spoonbill.

St. Agnes – 21 Sanderling.

The evening pelagic produced 50 European Storm-petrel, 10+ Manx Shearwater and about 40 Common Dolphin.

Monday’s highlights were on the evening pelagic trip, when 3 adult Grey Phalaropes were seen, one in summer plumage. A probable Yelkouan Shearwater flew past the boat but unfortunately no photographs were obtained in the wet and windy weather. Also seen on the trip were 60+ European Storm-petrel and 3 Manx Shearwater. Elsewhere:

Tresco – 2 Whimbrel, 2 Redshank, a Common Sandpiper, a Tufted Duck and a Pintail.

Samson – 2 Whimbrel, 6 Curlew, a Spoonbill and a Marsh Harrier.

Teän – 60 Curlew.

St. Mary’s – 2 Tufted Duck, 2 Greenshank and a Common Sandpiper at Porth Hellick. 2 Sandwich Tern at Porthcressa and 3 on Taylor’s Island.

Samson - A Marsh Harrier.

White Island – A Spoonbill.

The evening pelagic produced 2 Wilson’s Storm-petrel, 60+ European Storm-petrel and a Great Skua.
