St. Mary’s – A Solitary Sandpiper was found in the middle of the road by Newford Duck Pond. Fortunately 3 visiting birders found it, it was been stalked by a cat! They shooed off the cat and chivvied the bird onto the mud on the pond were it seemed to feed happily all afternoon. The Pectoral Sandpiper continued its daily commute between Porth Hellick & Lower Moors and what was probably last night’s Spotted Sandpiper was seen briefly at Carn Leh, Old Town Bay. The Red-eyed Vireo was still on Sallyport and the Bee-eater did a tour of the island. The Citrine Wagtail was still in Lower Moors, 2 Lapland Buntings were on Peninnis & 2 were on Porth Hellick Down, an Ortolan Bunting was at Giant’s Castle and there were 8 Buff-breasted Sandpipers on the airfield. A Woodchat Shrike was on the Garrison where there was also 2 Spotted flycatchers and a Common Redstart.

Tresco – 2 Pectoral Sandpipers were on the Great Pool and 3 were on Abbey Pool.

St. Agnes – The Baird’s Sandpiper & an Aquatic Warbler were on the Big Pool and a Wryneck was in the Island Fields.

Bryher – A Red-backed Shrike, 2 Wrynecks and an Ortolan Bunting.
