St. Mary’s – A Wood Sandpiper was at Porth Hellick and the juvenile Woodchat Shrike was still at Helvear.
At sea – Birders on a short-range pelagic trip saw a Great Shearwater, 2 Sooty Shearwaters, 3 Great Skuas and 25+ European Storm-petrels.
Of interest, after over 10 years of shark tagging, in which time more than 500 sharks have been caught, on this trip the first shark that was already tagged was caught. The tag was from Rhode Island, U.S!
