An excellent day full of spring scarcities and migrants on St Marys.

St Mary’s – Possibly two PURPLE HERONS were on the island and also two WOODCHAT SHRIKES and a BEE-EATER. Elsewhere highlights were: Ring Ouzel (8+), Sedge Warbler (2), Wood Warbler (5+), a Grasshopper Warbler, Tree Pipit (10+), Common Redstart, Turtle Dove, Firecrest, Yellow Wagtail, White Wagtail (3), the Blue-headed Wagtail still, Pied Flycatcher (2), a Wood Sandpiper, a Great Spotted Woodpecker, Nightingale (2) and possibly rarest of all, a ROOK!!
