Monday 28th July 2014 IoS Bird Sightings

St. Mary’s – 2 Cory’s Shearwaters flew past Deep Point, 3 Kingfishers were at Porth Hellick and a Wheatear was on the Garrison.

St. Agnes – A Whimbrel, a Dunlin and a Wheatear.

Gugh – A Common Sandpiper and a juvenile Cuckoo.

At sea – 3 Sooty Shearwaters and a Minke Whale were seen from the Scillonian on the return from St. Mary’s to Penzance. On the evening pelagic trip 4 Cory’s Shearwaters & a Great Skua were seen, 11 Blue Sharks were caught tagged and released.
