The only reports for Wednesday were a Spoonbill on Samson and a Mistle Thrush on Porthloo Lane, St. Mary’s.

St. Mary’s – 3 Siberian Chiffchaffs, a Firecrest, a female Great Spotted Woodpecker, 2 Mistle Thrushes, 2 Jack Snipe, an adult male Merlin, a drake Pochard, a female Wigeon, 17 Teal, a Grey Plover, a Brambling, 30+ Lapwing, 30+ Snipe, a Siskin, 51 Fieldfare and 80+ Redwing were at Porth Hellick. A Black-throated Diver, 7 Common Scoters, 4 Great Northern Divers and 11 Little Egrets were seen from Carn Morval. A Black Redstart was on Porth Cressa beach and another was at Little Porth.

St. Mary’s – There was a noticeable influx of Redwings, Fieldfares and Skylarks. There were 20 Lapwings and 14 Golden Plovers on the airfield. Reports from Porth Hellick were: a Siberian Chiffchaff. a Blackcap, a Redpoll, a Reed Bunting, a drake Pochard, 17 Teal and 13 Snipe.
2 Jack Snipe, a female Wigeon, 10 Teal, 25 Snipe, 2 Jack Snipe, 3 Siberian Chiffchaffs, 3 Blackcaps and a Woodlark & Redpoll flew over. 2 Mistle Thrushes & a female Merlin were at Trewince, 2 Spoonbills were on Green Island and 2 Black Redstarts were on Porthcressa beach.

St. Mary’s – A Siberian Chiffchaff & a Firecrest at Porth Hellick, a Common Buzzard at Trenoweth and a Whimbrel, 14 Curlews & 5 Bar-tailed Godwits at Bar Point. 2 drake Goosanders flew over Porth Mellon but could not be relocated. On Porthcressa beach there were 30 Sanderlings, a Grey Plover, 3 Common Gulls and a Black Redstart. Another Black Redstart was in the quay car park and the 2 Spoonbills could still be “scoped” on Green Island.

St. Mary’s – A Wigeon, a Common Buzzard, a Grey Plover, a Blackcap, a Cetti’s Warbler, a Siberian Chiffchaff and a Firecrest at Porth Hellick. A brief scan over the sea from Star Castle produced 10 Common Scoter, 4 Great Northern Divers, 30 Fulmars & 2 Harbour Porpoise and 2 Spoonbills were on Green Island.

Tresco - A rare winter trip to the island produced 2 scarce species scarce on Scilly – 8 Long-tailed Tits and a drake Long-tailed Duck. Also seen were a female Scaup, an adult Mediterranean Gull, a Short-eared Owl, a Black-throated Diver, 9 Great Northern Divers, a Firecrest,4 Pink-footed Geese, 55 Shelduck, 85 Teal, 2 drake Pintails, 9 Tufted Ducks, 18 Wigeons, a Brambling, a Black Redstart, 3 Bar-tailed Godwits, 35+ Lapwings, 20 + Little Egrets and 14 Common Gulls.
St. Martin’s – A Black-necked Grebe, a Common Buzzard, a Whimbrel, an adult Mediterranean Gull a Siskin and a Waxwing.

St. Mary’s – A Waxwing flew over the quay towards Telegraph in the morning and it or another was seen at Trenoweth in the afternoon. A Cetti’s Warbler, 2 Siberian Chiffchaffs, 2 Firecrests, a female Wigeon, a Mistle Thrush and a Skylark were at Porth Hellick, 3 Firecrests,2 Siberian Chiffchaffs & a Jack snipe Were at Lower Moors and the Water Pipit & Black Redstart were still on the beach below the quay car park.
