Sunday’s birds were:

St. Mary’s – The female Little Bittern was still on Lower Moors Pool.

St. Agnes – 4 Whimbrels, a Common Redstart and a Lesser Whitethroat.

Bryher – A real Scilly rarity – a Yellowhammer!

Monday’s birds were:

St. Mary’s – The female Little Bittern was still Lower Moors Pool.

St. Agnes – A Yellow Wagtail.

Tresco – 3 Whimbrels.

At sea – A Great Northern Diver, a European Storm Petrel and 3 Pomarine Skuas.

Tuesday’s birds were:

St. Mary’s – The female Little Bittern was still Lower Moors Pool and a Honey Buzzard flew over Lower Moors and Rocky Hills. A Woodchat Shrike was on Porth Hellick Down, 3 Golden Plovers were on the airfield and a Whimbrel was on Porthloo.

St. Martin’s – A Golden Oriole.

Wednesday’s birds were:

St. Mary’s – The female Little Bittern was still Lower Moors Pool and a female Marsh Harrier flew over the Garrison early morning and presumably the same bird was seen late afternoon at Porth Hellick. A drake Garganey was on Porth Hellick Pool and a Night Heron was in the ditch by the sluice from the pool to the sea. This Night Heron was a different bird to last week’s bird as it was fully winged and did not have a gap in the secondaries as the first one did. Nearby the a Whimbrel was on the beach. A Woodchat Shrike was seen again on Porth Hellick Down and a Whinchat was at Garrety’s Hole near Deep Point.

Tresco – A Honey Buzzard and a Bar-tailed Godwit.

Bryher – A Bar-tailed Godwit.

Teän – A Pintail.

Inter-island waters – 11 Great Northern Divers were in The Roads.
